  「比丘們!凡對任何比丘或比丘尼,在能被眼識知的諸色上凡他有貪,凡他有瞋,凡他有癡,凡他是貪未捨斷者,凡他是瞋未捨斷者,凡他是癡未捨斷者,對他,即使能被眼識知的微少諸色來到眼的範圍,仍佔據他的心,更不用說強烈的,那是什麼原因?比丘們!凡他有貪,凡他有瞋,凡他有癡,凡他是貪未捨斷者,凡他是瞋未捨斷者,凡他是癡未捨斷者……(中略)。
  比丘們!凡對任何比丘或比丘尼,在能被舌識知的諸味道上凡他有貪……(中略)。
  比丘們!凡對任何比丘或比丘尼,在能被意識知的諸法上凡他有貪,凡他有瞋,凡他有癡,凡他是貪未捨斷者,凡他是瞋未捨斷者,凡他是癡未捨斷者,對他,即使能被意識知的微少諸法來到意的範圍,仍佔據他的心,更不用說強烈的,那是什麼原因?比丘們!凡他有貪,凡他有瞋,凡他有癡,凡他是貪未捨斷者,凡他是瞋未捨斷者,凡他是癡未捨斷者。
  比丘們!猶如幼小、幼嫩、年輕的乳樹:菩提樹,或榕樹,或無花果樹,或蘋果樹,男子以銳利的斧頭到處切它,[樹]乳流出?」「是的,大德!那是什麼原因?大德!因為它有[樹]乳。」
