SN.2.24/(4). Ghaṭīkārasuttaṃ
105. Ekamantaṃ ṭhito kho ghaṭīkāro devaputto bhagavato santike imaṃ gāthaṃ abhāsi–
“Avihaṃ upapannāse, vimuttā satta bhikkhavo;
Rāgadosaparikkhīṇā, tiṇṇā loke visattikan”ti.
“Ke ca te ataruṃ paṅkaṃ, maccudheyyaṃ suduttaraṃ;
Ke hitvā mānusaṃ dehaṃ, dibbayogaṃ upaccagun”ti.
“Upako palagaṇḍo ca, pukkusāti ca te tayo;
Bhaddiyo khaṇḍadevo ca, bāhuraggi ca saṅgiyo.
Te hitvā mānusaṃ dehaṃ, dibbayogaṃ upaccagun”ti.
“Kusalī bhāsasī tesaṃ, mārapāsappahāyinaṃ;
Kassa te dhammamaññāya, acchiduṃ bhavabandhanan”ti.
“Na aññatra bhagavatā, nāññatra tava sāsanā;
Yassa te dhammamaññāya, acchiduṃ bhavabandhanaṃ.
“Yattha nāmañca rūpañca, asesaṃ uparujjhati;
Taṃ te dhammaṃ idhaññāya, acchiduṃ bhavabandhanan”ti.
“Gambhīraṃ bhāsasī vācaṃ, dubbijānaṃ sudubbudhaṃ;
Kassa tvaṃ dhammamaññāya, vācaṃ bhāsasi īdisan”ti.
“Kumbhakāro pure āsiṃ, vekaḷiṅge ghaṭīkaro;
Mātāpettibharo āsiṃ, kassapassa upāsako.
“Virato methunā dhammā, brahmacārī nirāmiso;
Ahuvā te sagāmeyyo, ahuvā te pure sakhā.
“Sohamete pajānāmi, vimutte satta bhikkhavo;
Rāgadosaparikkhīṇe, tiṇṇe loke visattikan”ti.
“Evametaṃ tadā āsi, yathā bhāsasi bhaggava;
Kumbhakāro pure āsi, vekaḷiṅge ghaṭīkaro.
“Mātāpettibharo āsi, kassapassa upāsako;
Virato methunā dhammā, brahmacārī nirāmiso.
Ahuvā me sagāmeyyo, ahuvā me pure sakhā”ti.
“Evametaṃ purāṇānaṃ, sahāyānaṃ ahu saṅgamo;
Ubhinnaṃ bhāvitattānaṃ, sarīrantimadhārinan”ti.
漢巴經文比對(莊春江作):
「無煩天」(Aviha),即第三果(阿那含)聖者往生的「五不還天」(色界的最高天,又稱為「淨居天(suddhāvāsa)」)之一(其他四天為「無熱天(Atappa)」、「善現天;易被見天(Sudassa)」、「善見天(Sudassi)」、「色究竟天;阿迦膩吒天(Akaniṭṭha)」)。按:《顯揚真義》說,那七位比丘一往生無煩天就立即解脫了。
「煩惱軛/諸天軛(SA.595);天境界(GA)」,南傳作「天軛」(dibbayogaṃ),菩提比丘長老英譯為「天的束縛」(the celestial bond)。按:《顯揚真義》以「五上分結」解說,而「捨斷人的身體後」則是斷除「五下分結」。
「弗迦羅娑梨(SA.595);佛羯羅(GA.189);弗迦邏娑利(MA.162)」,南傳作「補估沙地」(pukkusāti)。按:《破斥猶豫》說,他原是[健陀羅]德迦尸羅城的統治王(takkasīlanagare pukkusāti rājā rajjaṃ kāresi),王舍城頻毘娑羅王與他有邊境貿易來往,他因頻毘娑羅王之緣而嚮往佛法,遂自行剃髮、穿袈裟出走到王舍城,想跟隨世尊出家修學(大意),而後證得三果,成為經中所說往生無煩天的七位比丘之一,參看MA.162/MN.140。
「汝亦彼良友(SA.595)」,南傳作「是你在過去的同伴」。按:依MN.81,在迦葉佛時代,這位陶匠(kumbhakāra,直譯為「製甕者」)名叫「額低葛勒」(ghaṭikāra),MA.63譯作「難提波羅」,由於他,釋迦菩薩才隨迦葉佛出家。
