  如是我聞
  一時住舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。
  爾時,世尊告諸比丘
  「三十法成就者,如鐵鉾鑽水,身壞命終下生惡趣泥犁中,何等為三十法?謂:自手殺生,教人令殺,讚歎殺生、……乃至自行邪見,復以邪見教人令行,常復讚歎行邪見者,是名三十法,如鐵鉾鑽水,身壞命終下生惡趣泥犁中。
  有三十法成就者,如鐵鉾鑽空,身壞命終上生天上,何等為三十法?謂:自不殺生,教人不殺,常復讚歎不殺功德、……乃至自行正見、復以正見教人令行,常復讚歎正見功德,是名三十法成就,如鐵鉾鑽空,身壞命終上生天上。」

  「比丘們!具備三十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於地獄中,哪三十個呢?他自己是殺生者,且在殺生上勸導他人,又是對於殺生的認可者、他自己是未給予而取者,且在未給予而取上勸導他人,又是對於未給予而取的認可者、他自己是邪淫者,且在邪淫上勸導他人,又是對於邪淫的認可者、他自己是妄語者,且在妄語上勸導他人,又是對於妄語的認可者、他自己是離間語者,且在離間語上勸導他人,又是對於離間語的認可者、他自己是粗惡語者,且在粗惡語上勸導他人,又是對於粗惡語的認可者、他自己是雜穢語者,且在雜穢語上勸導他人,又是對於雜穢語的認可者、他自己是貪婪者,且在貪婪上勸導他人,又是對於貪婪的認可者、他自己是有瞋害心者,且在惡意上勸導他人,又是對於惡意的認可者、他自己是邪見者,且在邪見上勸導他人,又是對於邪見的認可者,比丘們!具備這三十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於地獄中。
  比丘們!具備三十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於天界中,哪三十個呢?他自己是離殺生者,且勸導他人殺生的戒絕,又是對於殺生的戒絕之認可者、他自己是離未給予而取者,且勸導他人未給予而取的戒絕,又是對於未給予而取的戒絕之認可者、他自己是離邪淫者,且勸導他人邪淫的戒絕,又是對於邪淫的戒絕之認可者、他自己是離妄語者,且勸導他人妄語的戒絕,又是對於妄語的戒絕之認可者、他自己是離離間語者,且勸導他人離間語的戒絕,又是對於離間語的戒絕之認可者、他自己是離粗惡語者,且勸導他人粗惡語的戒絕,又是對於粗惡語的戒絕之認可者、他自己是離雜穢語者,且勸導他人雜穢語的戒絕,又是對於雜穢語的戒絕之認可者、他自己是不貪婪者,且在不貪婪上勸導他人,又是對於不貪婪的認可者、他自己是無瞋害心者,且在無惡意上勸導他人,又是對於無惡意的認可者、他自己是正見者,且在正見上勸導他人,又是對於正見的認可者,比丘們!具備這三十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於天界中。」
