  如是我聞
  一時住舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。
  爾時,世尊告諸比丘
  「若成就二十法者,如鐵鉾鑽水,身壞命終下生惡趣泥犁中,何等為二十?謂:自手殺生,教人令殺、……乃至自行邪見,復以邪見教人令行,是名二十法成就,如鐵鉾鑽水,身壞命終下生惡趣、泥犁中。
  [有]二十法成就,譬如鐵鉾仰鑽虛空,身壞命終上生天上,何等為二十法?謂:自不殺生,教人不殺、……乃至自行正見,復以正見教人令行,是名二十法成就,如鐵鉾仰鑽虛空,身壞命終上生天上。」
  諸比丘聞佛所說,歡喜奉行。

  「比丘們!具備二十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於地獄中,哪二十個呢?他自己是殺生者,且在殺生上勸導他人、他自己是未給予而取者,且在未給予而取上勸導他人、他自己是邪淫者,且在邪淫上勸導他人、他自己是妄語者,且在妄語上勸導他人、他自己是離間語者,且在離間語上勸導他人、他自己是粗惡語者,且在粗惡語上勸導他人、他自己是雜穢語者,且在雜穢語上勸導他人、他自己是貪婪者,且在貪婪上勸導他人、他自己是有瞋害心者,且在惡意上勸導他人、他自己是邪見者,且在邪見上勸導他人,比丘們!具備這二十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於地獄中。
  比丘們!具備二十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於天界中,哪二十個呢?他自己是離殺生者,且勸導他人殺生的戒絕、他自己是離未給予而取者,且勸導他人未給予而取的戒絕、他自己是離邪淫者,且勸導他人邪淫的戒絕、他自己是離妄語者,且勸導他人妄語的戒絕、他自己是離離間語者,且勸導他人離間語的戒絕、他自己是離粗惡語者,且勸導他人粗惡語的戒絕、他自己是離雜穢語者,且勸導他人雜穢語的戒絕、他自己是不貪婪者,且在不貪婪上勸導他人、他自己是無瞋害心者,且在無惡意上勸導他人、他自己是正見者,且在正見上勸導他人,比丘們!具備這二十法者將像這樣這麼被帶往置於天界中。」
