  如是我聞
  一時住舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。
  爾時,尊者舍利弗晨朝著衣持鉢,入舍衛城乞食
  乞食已,還精舍,舉衣鉢,洗足已,持尼師檀,入林中晝日坐禪。
  時,舍利弗從禪覺,詣世尊所,稽首禮足,退坐一面。
  爾時,佛告舍利弗:「汝從何來?」
  舍利弗答言:
  「世尊!從林中晝日坐禪來。」
  佛告舍利弗:「今入何等禪住?」
  舍利弗白佛言:
  「世尊!我今於林中入空三昧禪住。」
  佛告舍利弗:
  「善哉!善哉!舍利弗!汝今入上{坐}[座?]禪住而坐禪。
  若諸比丘欲入上座禪者,當如是學:若入城時,若行乞食時,若出城時,當作是思惟:『我今眼見色,頗起欲、恩愛、愛念、著不?』舍利弗!比丘作如是觀時,若眼識於色有愛、念、染著者,彼比丘為斷惡不善故,當勤欲方便堪能,繫念修學。
  譬如:有人火燒頭衣,為盡滅故,當起增上方便,勤教令滅,彼比丘亦復如是,當起增上勤欲方便,繫念修學。
  若比丘觀察時,若於道路,若聚落中行乞食,若出聚落,於其中間,眼識於色無有愛、念、染著者,彼比丘願以此喜樂善根,日夜精勤,繫念修習,是名比丘於行、住、坐、臥淨除乞食。
  是故,此經名清淨乞食住。」
  佛說此經已,尊者舍利弗聞佛所說,歡喜奉行。

  聞如是
  一時在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。
  爾時,尊者舍利弗清旦從靜室起,至世尊所,頭面禮足,在一面坐。
  爾時,佛告舍利弗曰:
  「汝今諸根清淨,顏貌與人有異,汝今遊何三昧?」
  舍利弗白佛言:「唯然,世尊!我恒遊空三昧。」
  佛告舍利弗言:
  「善哉!善哉!舍利弗!乃能遊於空三昧,所以然者?諸虛空三昧者最為第一,其有比丘遊虛空三昧,計無吾我、人、壽命,亦不見有眾生,亦復不見諸行本末;已不見,亦不造行本;已無行,更不受有;已無受有,不復受苦樂之報。
  舍利弗!當知我昔未成佛道,坐樹王下,便作是念:『此眾生類為不剋獲何法,流轉生死不得解脫?』
  時,我復作是念:『無有空三昧者,便流浪生死,不得至竟解脫;有此空三昧但眾生未剋,使眾生起想著之念;{以}[已]起世間之想,便受生死之分。
  若得是空三昧,亦無所願,便得無願三昧;以得無願三昧,不求死此生彼,都無想念時,彼行者復有無想三昧得娛樂
  此眾生類皆由不得[三]三昧故,流浪生死。
  觀察諸法已,便得空三昧;已得空三昧,便成阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。』
  當我爾時,以得空三昧,七日七夜觀視道樹,目未曾眴。
  舍利弗!以此方便知空三昧者,於諸三昧最為第一三昧、王三昧者,空三昧是也。
  是故,舍利弗!當求方便,辦空三昧,如是,舍利弗!當作是學。」
  爾時,舍利弗聞佛所說,歡喜奉行。

中部151經/施食遍純淨經(六處品)(莊春江譯)
  被我這麼聽聞
  有一次世尊住在王舍城栗鼠飼養處的竹林中。
  那時,尊者舍利弗傍晚時,從獨坐出來,去見世尊。抵達後,向世尊問訊後,在一旁坐下。世尊對在一旁坐下的尊者舍利弗說這個:
  「舍利弗!你有明淨的諸根,遍純淨的、皎潔的膚色,舍利弗!你現在以什麼住處多住?」
  「大德!我現在以空住處多住。」
  「舍利弗!!好!你現在確實以大丈夫住處多住,舍利弗!這是大丈夫住處,即空。
  舍利弗!因此,在這裡,如果比丘希望:『願我以空住處多住。』舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『我為了托鉢凡以道路進入村落、我為了托鉢凡在地方行走、我為了托鉢凡以道路從村落返回,在那裡,在能被眼識知的諸色上,我有意欲,或貪,或瞋,或癡,或甚至心的嫌惡嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『我為了托鉢凡以道路進入村落、我為了托鉢凡在地方行走、我為了托鉢凡以道路從村落返回,在那裡,在能被眼識知的諸色上,我有意欲,或貪,或瞋,或癡,或甚至心的嫌惡。』舍利弗!為了就那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『我為了托鉢凡以道路進入村落、我為了托鉢凡在地方行走、我為了托鉢凡以道路從村落返回,在那裡,在能被眼識知的諸色上,我沒有意欲,或貪,或瞋,或癡,或甚至心的嫌惡。』舍利弗!就以那個、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(438)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『我為了托鉢凡以道路進入村落、我為了托鉢凡在地方行走、我為了托鉢凡以道路從村落返回,在那裡,在能被耳識知的諸聲音……(中略)在能被鼻識知的諸氣味……在能被舌識知的諸味道……在能被身識知的諸所觸……在能被意識知的諸法上,我有意欲,或貪,或瞋,或癡,或甚至心的嫌惡嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『我為了托鉢凡以道路進入村落、我為了托鉢凡在地方行走、我為了托鉢凡以道路從村落返回,在那裡,在意所識知的諸法上,我有意欲,或貪,或瞋,或癡,或甚至心的嫌惡。』舍利弗!為了就那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『我為了托鉢凡以道路進入村落、我為了托鉢凡在地方行走、我為了托鉢凡以道路從村落返回,在那裡,在意所識知的法,我的心中無意欲,或貪,或瞋,或癡,或甚至心的嫌惡。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學應該被那位比丘住。(439)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『五種欲被我捨斷嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五種欲未被我捨斷。』舍利弗!為了五種欲的捨斷應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五種欲被我捨斷。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(440)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『五蓋被我捨斷嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五蓋未被我捨斷。』舍利弗!為了五蓋的捨斷應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五蓋被我捨斷。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(441)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『五取蘊被我遍知嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五取蘊未被我遍知。』舍利弗!為了五取蘊的遍知應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五取蘊被我遍知。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(442)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『四念住被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『四念住未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了四念住的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『四念住被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(443)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『四正勤被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『四正勤未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了四正勤的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『四正勤被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(444)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『四神足被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『四神足未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了四神足的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『四神足被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(445)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『五根被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五根未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了五根的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五根被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(446)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『五力被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五力未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了五力的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『五力被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(447)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『七覺支被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『七覺支未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了七覺支的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『七覺支被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(448)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『八支聖道被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『八支聖道未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了八支聖道的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『八支聖道被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(449)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『止與觀被我修習嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『止與觀未被我修習。』舍利弗!為了止與觀的修習應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『止與觀被我修習。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(450)
  再者,舍利弗!應該被那位比丘像這樣深慮:『與解脫被我作證嗎?』
  舍利弗!如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『明與解脫未被我作證。』舍利弗!為了明與解脫的作證應該被那位比丘努力。
  舍利弗!但,如果當比丘省察時,這麼知道:『明與解脫被我作證。』舍利弗!就以那個喜、欣悅,以日夜在諸善法上的隨學,應該被那位比丘住。(451)
  舍利弗!凡過去世任何沙門婆羅門使施食淨化,他們全部這樣省察再省察後使施食淨化;舍利弗!凡未來世任何沙門或婆羅門使施食淨化,他們也將全都省察再省察後使施食淨化;舍利弗!凡現在任何沙門或婆羅門使施食淨化,他們也正全都省察再省察後使施食淨化。
  舍利弗!因此,在這裡,『我們將省察再省察後使施食淨化。』舍利弗!應該被你們這麼學。」
  世尊說這個,悅意的尊者舍利弗歡喜世尊的所說。(452)

   “Vippasannāni kho te, sāriputta, indriyāni, parisuddho chavivaṇṇo pariyodāto. Katamena kho tvaṃ, sāriputta, vihārena etarahi bahulaṃ viharasī”ti? “Suññatāvihārena kho ahaṃ, bhante, etarahi bahulaṃ viharāmī”ti. “Sādhu, sādhu, sāriputta! Sace, sāriputta, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘abhāvito kho me ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo’ti, tena, sāriputta, bhikkhunā ariyassa aṭṭhaṅgikassa maggassa bhāvanāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace pana, sāriputta, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘bhāvito kho me ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo’ti tena, sāriputta, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.
   450. “Puna caparaṃ, sāriputta, bhikkhunā iti paṭisañcikkhitabbaṃ– ‘bhāvitā nu kho me samatho ca vipassanā cā’ti? Sace, sāriputta, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘abhāvitā kho me samatho ca vipassanā cā’ti, tena, sāriputta, bhikkhunā samathavipassanānaṃ bhāvanāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace pana, sāriputta, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘bhāvitā kho me samatho ca vipassanā cā’ti, tena, sāriputta, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.

Sace, sāriputta, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘asacchikatā kho me vijjā ca vimutti cā’ti, tena, sāriputta, bhikkhunā vijjāya vimuttiyā sacchikiriyāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace pana, sāriputta, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘sacchikatā kho me vijjā ca vimutti cā’ti, tena, sāriputta, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.
   452. “Ye hi keci, sāriputta, atītamaddhānaṃ samaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā piṇḍapātaṃ parisodhesuṃ, sabbe te evameva paccavekkhitvā paccavekkhitvā piṇḍapātaṃ parisodhesuṃ. Yepi hi keci, sāriputta, anāgatamaddhānaṃ samaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā piṇḍapātaṃ parisodhessanti, sabbe te evameva paccavekkhitvā paccavekkhitvā piṇḍapātaṃ parisodhessanti. Yepi hi keci, sāriputta, etarahi samaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā piṇḍapātaṃ parisodhenti, sabbe te evameva paccavekkhitvā paccavekkhitvā piṇḍapātaṃ parisodhenti. Tasmātiha, sāriputta, ‘paccavekkhitvā paccavekkhitvā piṇḍapātaṃ parisodhessāmā’ti – evañhi vo, sāriputta, sikkhitabban”ti.
