被我這麼聽聞:
有一次,
世尊住在王舍城栗鼠飼養處的竹林中。
那時,
尊者地生午前時穿衣、拿起衣鉢後,去若雅謝那王子的住處。抵達後,在設置的座位坐下。
那時,若雅謝那王子去見尊者地生。抵達後,與尊者地生一起互相問候。交換應該被互相問候的友好交談後,在一旁坐下。在一旁坐下的若雅謝那王子對尊者地生說這個:
「地生尊師!有一些
沙門婆羅門是這樣說者、這樣見者:『如果作願望(許願)後行
梵行,對結果的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者。』這裡,地生尊師的
大師是論說什麼者?宣說什麼者?」
「王子!這個沒被我在世尊的面前聽聞、在面前領受,但,這存在可能性,凡世尊這麼回答:『如果作願望後不如理行梵行,對結果的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後不如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後不如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後不如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者。如果作願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到是能夠者;如果作無願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者。』王子!這個沒被我在世尊的面前聽聞、在面前領受,但,這存在可能性,凡世尊這麼回答。」
「如果地生尊師的大師是這麼說者、這麼告知者,我想,地生尊師的大師確實就打擊所有個個愚昧的沙門婆羅門後站立。」
那時,若雅謝那王子就以自己的一鍋食物理招待尊者地生。(223)
那時,尊者地生
餐後已從施食返回,去見世尊。抵達後,向世尊
問訊後,在一旁坐下。在一旁坐下的尊者地生對世尊說這個:
「
大德!這裡,我午前時穿衣、拿起衣鉢後,去若雅謝那王子的住處。抵達後,在設置的座位坐下。那時,若雅謝那王子來見我。抵達後,與我一起互相問候。交換應該被互相問候的友好交談後,在一旁坐下。大德!在一旁坐下的若雅謝那王子對我說這個:『地生尊師!有一些沙門或婆羅門是這樣知者、這樣見者:「如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後行梵行……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後,行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者。」這裡,地生尊師的大師是論說什麼者?宣說什麼者?』大德!在這麼說時,我對若雅謝那王子說這個:『王子!這個沒被我在世尊的面前聽聞、在面前領受,但,這存在可能性,凡世尊這麼回答:「如果作願望後不如理行梵行,對結果的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後,不如理行梵行……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後不如理行梵行……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後不如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者。如果作願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到是能夠者;如果作無願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後如理行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者。」王子!這個沒被我在世尊的面前聽聞、在面前領受,但,這存在可能性,凡世尊這麼回答。』『如果地生尊師的大師是這麼說者、這麼告知者,我想,地生尊師的大師確實就打擊所有個個愚昧的沙門或婆羅門後站立。』大德!被這麼問,當這麼回答時,是否我
是世尊的所說之說者,而且不會以不實的誹謗世尊,以及會
法隨法地回答,而任何如法的種種說不會來到應該被呵責處?」
「地生!被這麼問,當這麼回答時,你確實是我的所說之說者,而且不以不實的誹謗我,法隨法地回答,而任何如法的種種說不來到應該被呵責處。地生!因為,凡任何邪見、邪志、邪語、邪業、邪命、邪精進、邪念、邪定的沙門或婆羅門,他們如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後,行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對結果的得到是不如理的。(224)
地生!猶如欲求油、尋求油、行遍求油的男子在木桶中傾倒沙後,以水一再傾注地壓榨,如果作願望後在木桶中傾倒沙後,以水一再傾注地壓榨,對油的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後在木桶中傾倒沙後,以水一再傾注地壓榨,對油的得到也是不能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後在木桶中傾倒沙後,以水一再傾注地壓榨,對油的得到也是不能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後在木桶中傾倒沙後,以水一再傾注地壓榨,對油的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對油的得到是不如理的。同樣的,地生!凡任何邪見、邪志、邪語、邪業、邪命、邪精進、邪念、邪定的沙門或婆羅門,他們如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對結果的得到是不如理的。
地生!猶如欲求牛乳、尋求牛乳、行遍求牛乳的男子從幼仔的母牛角拉(擠),如果作願望後從幼仔的母牛角拉,對牛乳的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後從幼仔的母牛角拉,對牛乳的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對牛乳的得到是不如理的。同樣的,地生!凡任何邪見……(中略)邪定的沙門或婆羅門,他們如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對結果的得到是不如理的。(225)

生酥、尋求生酥、行遍求生酥的男子在水瓶中灌入水後,以攪拌器攪動,如果作願望後在水瓶中灌入水後,以攪拌器攪動,對生酥的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後在水瓶中灌入水後,以攪拌器攪動,對生酥的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對生酥的得到是不如理的。同樣的,地生!凡任何邪見……(中略)邪定的沙門或婆羅門,他們如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對結果的得到是不如理的。
地生!猶如欲求火、尋求火、行遍求火的男子拿
取火的上鑽木後,鑽磨濕的、帶汁的柴,如果作願望後拿取火的上鑽木後,鑽磨濕的、帶汁的柴,對火的得到是不能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後拿取火的上鑽木後,鑽磨濕的、帶汁的柴,對火的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對火的得到是不如理的。同樣的,地生!凡任何邪見……(中略)邪定的沙門或婆羅門,他們如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是不能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對結果的得到是不如理的。
地生!凡任何正見、正志、正語、正業、正命、正精進、正念、正定的沙門或婆羅門,他們如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到是能夠者;如果作無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者;如果作願望與無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者;如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對結果的得到是如理的。(226)

地生!猶如欲求火、尋求火、行遍求火的男子拿取火的上鑽木後,鑽磨乾枯的、無生氣的柴,如果作願望後拿取火的上鑽木後,鑽磨乾枯的、無生氣的柴,對火的得到是能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後拿取火的上鑽木後,鑽磨乾枯的、無生氣的柴,對火的得到也是能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對火的得到是如理的。同樣的,地生!凡任何正見……(中略)正定的沙門或婆羅門,他們如果作願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者;如果作無願望後……(中略)如果作願望與無願望後……(中略)如果作既非願望也非無願望後行梵行,對結果的得到也是能夠者,那是什麼原因?地生!因為,這對結果的得到是如理的。
地生!如果對若雅謝那王子這四個
不可思議的譬喻在你心中出現,若雅謝那王子對你明淨(有淨信),又,有淨信者對你作
有淨信的行為。」
「大德!對若雅謝那王子,這四個在以前前所未聞的、不可思議的譬喻從哪裡又將在我心中出現,猶如世尊?」
世尊說這個,悅意的尊者地生歡喜世尊的所說。(228)

223. Evaṃ me sutaṃ– ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā rājagahe viharati veḷuvane kalandakanivāpe. Atha kho āyasmā bhūmijo pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya yena jayasenassa rājakumārassa nivesanaṃ tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā paññatte āsane nisīdi. Atha kho jayaseno rājakumāro yenāyasmā bhūmijo tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā āyasmatā bhūmijena saddhiṃ sammodi. Sammodanīyaṃ kathaṃ sāraṇīyaṃ vītisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho jayaseno rājakumāro āyasmantaṃ bhūmijaṃ etadavoca– “santi, bho bhūmija, eke samaṇabrāhmaṇā evaṃvādino evaṃdiṭṭhino– ‘āsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāya; anāsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāya; āsañca anāsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāya; nevāsaṃ nānāsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāyā’ti. “Taggha tvaṃ, bhūmija, evaṃ puṭṭho evaṃ byākaramāno vuttavādī ceva me hosi, na ca maṃ abhūtena abbhācikkhasi, dhammassa cānudhammaṃ byākarosi, na ca koci sahadhammiko vādānuvādo gārayhaṃ ṭhānaṃ āgacchati. Ye hi keci, bhūmija, samaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā micchādiṭṭhino micchāsaṅkappā micchāvācā micchākammantā micchā-ājīvā micchāvāyāmā micchāsatī micchāsamādhino te āsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāya; anāsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāya; āsañca anāsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāya; nevāsaṃ nānāsañcepi karitvā brahmacariyaṃ caranti, abhabbā phalassa adhigamāya. “Sace kho taṃ, bhūmija, jayasenassa rājakumārassa imā catasso upamā paṭibhāyeyyuṃ anacchariyaṃ te jayaseno rājakumāro pasīdeyya, pasanno ca te pasannākāraṃ kareyyā”ti. “Kuto pana maṃ, bhante, jayasenassa rājakumārassa imā catasso upamā paṭibhāyissanti anacchariyā pubbe assutapubbā, seyyathāpi bhagavantan”ti?
