  被我這麼聽聞
  有一次尊者大目揵連住在婆祇國蘇蘇馬拉山之配沙卡拉林的鹿林。
  在那裡,尊者大目揵連召喚比丘們:
  「比丘學友們!」
  「學友!」那些比丘回答尊者大目揵連。
  尊者大目揵連說這個:
  「學友們!即使比丘作自恣:『請尊者們說我,我應該被尊者們說。』但他是難順從糾正者,具備難作勸導法者,不忍耐者、不善於理解教誡者,那時,同梵行者對他不認為應該被說,同時也不認為應該被教誡,也不認為在那位個人上應該被來到信賴。
  學友們!而什麼是難作勸導法呢?學友們!這裡,比丘是惡欲求者、到達惡欲求支配者。學友們!凡比丘是惡欲求者、到達惡欲求支配者,這是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是讚賞自己者、輕蔑他人者。學友們!凡比丘是讚賞自己者、輕蔑他人者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是易憤怒者、被憤怒征服者。學友們!凡比丘是易憤怒者、被憤怒征服者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是易憤怒者、因憤怒懷怨恨者。學友們!凡比丘是易憤怒者、因憤怒懷怨恨者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是易憤怒者、因憤怒頑固者。學友們!凡比丘是易憤怒者、因憤怒頑固者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是易憤怒者、發出接近憤怒言語者。學友們!凡比丘是易憤怒者、發出接近憤怒言語者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他反對呵責者。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他反對呵責者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他貶抑呵責者。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他貶抑呵責者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他頂嘴呵責者。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他頂嘴呵責者者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他轉向無關的,帶到在外的談論,顯露憤怒、瞋恚、不滿。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他轉向無關的,帶到在外的談論,顯露憤怒、瞋恚、不滿者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他在自己的所行上不解說。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他在自己的所行上不解說者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是藏惡者、專橫者。學友們!凡比丘是藏惡者、專橫者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是嫉妒者、慳吝者。學友們!凡比丘是嫉妒者、慳吝者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是狡猾者、偽詐者。學友們!凡比丘是狡猾者、偽詐者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是剛愎者、極慢者。學友們!凡比丘是剛愎者、極慢者,這也是難作勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是執取己見者、固執者、難棄捨者。學友們!凡比丘是執取己見者、固執者、難棄捨者,這也是難作勸導法。
  學友們!這些被稱為難作勸導法。(181)
  學友們!即使比丘沒作自恣:『請尊者們說我,我應該被尊者們說。』但他是易受勸導者,具備作為易受勸導法者,忍耐者、善於理解教誡者,那時,同梵行者們對他認為應該被說,同時也認為應該被教誡,也認為在那位個人上應該被來到信賴。
  學友們!而什麼是作為易受勸導法呢?學友們!這裡,比丘是非惡欲求者、非到達惡欲求支配者。學友們!凡比丘是非惡欲求者、非到達惡欲求支配者,這是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是非讚賞自己者、非輕蔑他人者。學友們!凡比丘是非讚賞自己者、非輕蔑他人者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不易憤怒者、不被憤怒征服者。學友們!凡比丘是不易憤怒者、不被憤怒征服者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不易憤怒者、不因憤怒懷怨恨者。學友們!凡比丘是不易憤怒者、不因憤怒懷怨恨者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不易憤怒者、不因憤怒頑固者。學友們!凡比丘是不易憤怒者、不因憤怒頑固者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不易憤怒者、不發出接近憤怒言語者。學友們!凡比丘是不易憤怒者、不發出接近憤怒言語者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他不反對呵責者。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他不反對呵責者者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他不貶抑呵責者。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他不貶抑呵責者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他不頂嘴呵責者。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他不頂嘴呵責者者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他不徘徊無關的,不彎到向外的談論,不顯露憤怒者、瞋恚者、不滿。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他不徘徊無關的,不彎到向外的談論,不顯露憤怒、瞋恚、不滿者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘被呵責者呵責,他在自己的所行上解說。學友們!凡比丘被呵責者呵責,他在自己的所行上解說者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不藏惡者、不專橫者。學友們!凡比丘是不藏惡者、不專橫者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不嫉妒者、不慳吝者。學友們!凡比丘是不嫉妒者、不慳吝者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不狡猾者、不偽詐者。學友們!凡比丘是不狡猾者、不偽詐者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不剛愎者、不極慢者。學友們!凡比丘是不剛愎者、不極慢者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  再者,學友們!比丘是不執取己見者、不固執者、容易棄捨者。學友們!凡比丘是不執取己見者、不固執者、容易棄捨者,這也是作為易受勸導法。
  學友們!這些被稱為順從法。(182)
  學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣推論:『凡這位個人是惡欲求者、到達惡欲求支配者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我是惡欲求者、到達惡欲求支配者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是非惡欲求者、非到達惡欲求支配者。』
  『凡這位個人是讚賞自己者、輕蔑他人者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我是讚賞自己者、輕蔑他人者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是非讚賞自己者、非輕蔑他人者。』
  『凡這位個人是易憤怒者、被憤怒征服者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我是易憤怒者、被憤怒征服者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不易憤怒者、不被憤怒征服者。』
  『凡這位個人是易憤怒者、因憤怒懷怨恨者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我是易憤怒者、因憤怒懷怨恨者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不易憤怒者、不因憤怒懷怨恨者。』
  『凡這位個人是易憤怒者、因憤怒頑固者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我是易憤怒者、因憤怒頑固者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不易憤怒者、不因憤怒頑固者。』
  『凡這位個人是易憤怒者、發出接近憤怒言語者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我是易憤怒者、發出接近憤怒言語者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不易憤怒者、不發出接近憤怒言語者。』
  『凡這位個人被呵責者呵責,他反對呵責者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我被呵責者呵責,我反對呵責者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我被呵責者呵責,我將不反對呵責者。』
  『凡這位個人被呵責者呵責,他貶抑呵責者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我被呵責者呵責,我貶抑呵責者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我被呵責者呵責,我將不貶抑呵責者。』
  『凡這位個人被呵責者呵責,他頂嘴呵責者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我被呵責者呵責,我頂嘴呵責者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我被呵責者呵責,我將不頂嘴呵責者。』
  『凡這位個人被呵責者呵責,他轉向無關的,帶到在外的談論,顯露憤怒、瞋恚、不滿,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我被呵責者呵責,他徘徊無關的,帶向外的談論,顯露憤怒、瞋恚、不滿,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我被呵責者呵責,我將不徘徊無關的,將不彎到向外的談論,將不顯露憤怒、瞋恚、不滿。』
  『凡這位個人被呵責者呵責,他在自己的所行上不解說,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我被呵責者呵責,我在自己的所行上不解說,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我被呵責者呵責,我將在自己的所行上解說。』
  『凡這位個人是藏惡者、專橫者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,同樣地,如果我是藏惡者、專橫者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不藏惡者、不專橫者。』
  『凡這位個人是嫉妒者、慳吝者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,同樣地,如果我是嫉妒者、慳吝者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不嫉妒者、不慳吝者。』
  『凡這位個人是狡猾者、偽詐者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,同樣地,如果我是狡猾者、偽詐者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不狡猾者、不偽詐者。』
  『凡這位個人是剛愎者、極慢者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,同樣地,如果我是剛愎者、極慢者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不剛愎者、不極慢者。』
  『凡這位個人是執取己見者、固執者、難棄捨者,這位個人對我是不可愛的、不合意的,而同樣地,如果我是執取己見者、固執者、難棄捨者,我對其他人也是不可愛的、不合意的。』學友們!心應該被知道這樣的比丘生起:『我將是不執取己見者、不固執者、容易棄捨者。』(183)
  學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我是惡欲求者、到達惡欲求支配者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我是惡欲求者、到達惡欲求支配者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我是非惡欲求者、非到達惡欲求支配者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學
  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我是讚賞自己、輕蔑他人者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我是讚賞自己、輕蔑他人者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我是非讚賞自己、非輕蔑他人者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。
  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我是易憤怒者、被憤怒征服者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我是易憤怒者、被憤怒征服者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我是不易憤怒者、不被憤怒征服者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。
  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我是易憤怒者、因憤怒懷怨恨者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我是易憤怒者、因憤怒懷怨恨者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我是不易憤怒者、不因憤怒懷怨恨者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。

  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我被呵責者呵責,我貶抑呵責者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我被呵責者呵責,我貶抑呵責者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我被呵責者呵責,我不貶抑呵責者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。
  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我被呵責者呵責,我頂嘴呵責者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我被呵責者呵責,我對呵責者頂嘴。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我被呵責者呵責,我不頂嘴呵責者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。

  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我被呵責者呵責,我在自己的所行上不解說呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我被呵責者呵責,我在自己的所行上不解說。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我被呵責者呵責,我在自己的所行上解說。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。
  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我是藏惡者、專橫者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我是藏惡者、專橫者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我是不藏惡者、不專橫者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。

  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我是剛愎者、極慢者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我是剛愎者、極慢者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我是不剛愎者、不極慢者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。
  再者,學友們!在那裡,就對自己應該被比丘自己這樣省察:『是否我是執取己見者、固執者、難棄捨者呢?』學友們!如果省察的比丘知道:『我是執取己見者、固執者、難棄捨者。』學友們!以那個,就為了那些惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果省察的比丘知道:『我是不執取己見者、不固執者、容易棄捨者。』學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。
  學友們!如果當比丘省察時,察覺這全部惡不善法還在自己上未被捨斷,學友們!以那個,就為了這全部惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果當比丘省察時,察覺這全部惡不善法在自己上已被捨斷,學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。
  學友們!猶如年輕、年少、喜好裝飾之類的女子或男子,當在鏡中,或在遍淨、潔淨、清澈的水鉢中省察自己的面相時,在那裡,如果看見塵垢或污穢,就為了他的塵垢或污穢的捨斷努力。在那裡,如果沒看見塵垢或污穢,以那個,就成為悅意的:『確實是我的利得,確實是我的遍純淨的。』[MN.15]同樣的,學友們!如果當比丘省察時,察覺這全部惡不善法還在自己上未被捨斷,學友們!以那個,就為了這全部惡不善法的捨斷應該被比丘努力。學友們!但如果當比丘省察時,察覺這全部惡不善法在自己上已被捨斷,學友們!以那個,應該被那位比丘就以喜、欣悅捨棄,在諸善法上以日夜隨學。」
  尊者目揵連說這個,那些悅意的比丘歡喜尊者目揵連所說。(184)

   181. Evaṃ me sutaṃ– ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā mahāmoggallāno bhaggesu viharati susumāragire bhesakaḷāvane migadāye. Tatra kho āyasmā mahāmoggallāno bhikkhū āmantesi– “āvuso, bhikkhavo”ti. “Āvuso”ti kho te bhikkhū āyasmato mahāmoggallānassa paccassosuṃ. Āyasmā mahāmoggallāno etadavoca–
   “Pavāreti cepi, āvuso, bhikkhu– ‘vadantu maṃ āyasmanto, vacanīyomhi āyasmantehī’ti, so ca hoti dubbaco, dovacassakaraṇehi dhammehi samannāgato, akkhamo appadakkhiṇaggāhī anusāsaniṃ, atha kho naṃ sabrahmacārī na ceva vattabbaṃ maññanti, na ca anusāsitabbaṃ maññanti, na ca tasmiṃ puggale vissāsaṃ āpajjitabbaṃ maññanti.
   “Katame cāvuso, dovacassakaraṇā dhammā? Idhāvuso, bhikkhu pāpiccho hoti, pāpikānaṃ icchānaṃ vasaṃ gato. Yampāvuso, bhikkhu pāpiccho hoti, pāpikānaṃ icchānaṃ vasaṃ gato– ayampi dhammo dovacassakaraṇo.
   “Puna caparaṃ, āvuso, bhikkhu attukkaṃsako hoti paravambhī. Yampāvuso, bhikkhu attukkaṃsako hoti paravambhī– ayampi dhammo dovacassakaraṇo.

   182. “No cepi, āvuso, bhikkhu pavāreti– ‘vadantu maṃ āyasmanto, vacanīyomhi āyasmantehī’ti, so ca hoti suvaco, sovacassakaraṇehi dhammehi samannāgato, khamo padakkhiṇaggāhī anusāsaniṃ, atha kho naṃ sabrahmacārī vattabbañceva maññanti, anusāsitabbañca maññanti, tasmiñca puggale vissāsaṃ āpajjitabbaṃ maññanti.
   “Katame cāvuso, sovacassakaraṇā dhammā? Idhāvuso, bhikkhu na pāpiccho hoti, na pāpikānaṃ icchānaṃ vasaṃ gato. Yampāvuso, bhikkhu na pāpiccho hoti na pāpikānaṃ icchānaṃ vasaṃ gato– ayampi dhammo sovacassakaraṇo.

Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘na kodhano bhavissāmi na kodhasāmantā vācaṃ nicchāressāmī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.
   “‘Yo khvāyaṃ puggalo codito codakena codakaṃ paṭippharati, ayaṃ me puggalo appiyo amanāpo; ahañceva kho pana codito codakena codakaṃ paṭipphareyyaṃ ahaṃpāssaṃ paresaṃ appiyo amanāpo’ti. Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘codito codakena codakaṃ nappaṭippharissāmī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.
   “‘Yo khvāyaṃ puggalo codito codakena codakaṃ apasādeti, ayaṃ me puggalo appiyo amanāpo; ahañceva kho pana codito codakena codakaṃ apasādeyyaṃ, ahaṃpāssaṃ paresaṃ appiyo amanāpo’ti. Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘codito codakena codakaṃ na apasādessāmī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.
   “‘Yo khvāyaṃ puggalo codito codakena codakassa paccāropeti, ayaṃ me puggalo appiyo amanāpo; ahañceva kho pana codito codakena codakassa paccāropeyyaṃ, ahaṃpāssaṃ paresaṃ appiyo amanāpo’ti. Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘codito codakena codakassa na paccāropessāmī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.

   “‘Yo khvāyaṃ puggalo makkhī paḷāsī, ayaṃ me puggalo appiyo amanāpo; ahañceva kho panassaṃ makkhī paḷāsī, ahaṃpāssaṃ paresaṃ appiyo amanāpo’ti. Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘amakkhī bhavissāmi apaḷāsī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.
   “‘Yo khvāyaṃ puggalo issukī maccharī, ayaṃ me puggalo appiyo amanāpo; ahañceva kho panassaṃ issukī maccharī, ahaṃpāssaṃ paresaṃ appiyo amanāpo’ti. Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘anissukī bhavissāmi amaccharī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.
   “‘Yo khvāyaṃ puggalo saṭho māyāvī, ayaṃ me puggalo appiyo amanāpo; ahañceva kho panassaṃ saṭho māyāvī, ahaṃpāssaṃ paresaṃ appiyo amanāpo’ti. Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘asaṭho bhavissāmi amāyāvī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.

   “‘Yo khvāyaṃ puggalo sandiṭṭhiparāmāsī ādhānaggāhī duppaṭinissaggī, ayaṃ me puggalo appiyo amanāpo; ahañceva kho panassaṃ sandiṭṭhiparāmāsī ādhānaggāhī duppaṭinissaggī, ahaṃpāssaṃ paresaṃ appiyo amanāpo’ti. Evaṃ jānantenāvuso, bhikkhunā ‘asandiṭṭhiparāmāsī bhavissāmi anādhānaggāhī suppaṭinissaggī’ti cittaṃ uppādetabbaṃ.
   184. “Tatrāvuso bhikkhunā attanāva attānaṃ evaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ– ‘kiṃ nu khomhi pāpiccho, pāpikānaṃ icchānaṃ vasaṃ gato’ti? Sace, āvuso bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti – ‘pāpiccho khomhi, pāpikānaṃ icchānaṃ vasaṃ gato’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā tesaṃyeva pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace panāvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘na khomhi pāpiccho, na pāpikānaṃ icchānaṃ vasaṃ gato’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.
   “Puna caparaṃ, āvuso, bhikkhunā attanāva attānaṃ evaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ– ‘kiṃ nu khomhi attukkaṃsako paravambhī’ti? Sace, āvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘attukkaṃsako khomhi paravambhī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā tesaṃyeva pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace panāvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘anattukkaṃsako khomhi aparavambhī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.
   “Puna caparaṃ, āvuso, bhikkhunā attanāva attānaṃ evaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ– ‘kiṃ nu khomhi kodhano kodhābhibhūto’ti? Sace, āvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘kodhano khomhi kodhābhibhūto’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā tesaṃyeva pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace panāvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘na khomhi kodhano kodhābhibhūto’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.

Sace panāvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘codito khomhi codakena codakassa na paccāropemī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.

Sace, āvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘issukī khomhi maccharī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā tesaṃyeva pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace panāvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘anissukī khomhi amaccharī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.
   “Puna caparaṃ, āvuso, bhikkhunā attanāva attānaṃ evaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ– ‘kiṃ nu khomhi saṭho māyāvī’ti? Sace, āvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘saṭho khomhi māyāvī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā tesaṃyeva pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya vāyamitabbaṃ.    “Puna caparaṃ, āvuso, bhikkhunā attanāva attānaṃ evaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ– ‘kiṃ nu khomhi sandiṭṭhiparāmāsī ādhānaggāhī duppaṭinissaggī’ti? Sace, āvuso bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘sandiṭṭhiparāmāsī khomhi ādhānaggāhī duppaṭinissaggī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā tesaṃyeva pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace panāvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno evaṃ jānāti– ‘asandiṭṭhiparāmāsī khomhi anādhānaggāhī suppaṭinissaggī’ti, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.
   “Sace āvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno sabbepime pāpake akusale dhamme appahīne attani samanupassati, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā sabbesaṃyeva imesaṃ pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya vāyamitabbaṃ. Sace panāvuso, bhikkhu paccavekkhamāno sabbepime pāpake akusale dhamme pahīne attani samanupassati, tenāvuso, bhikkhunā teneva pītipāmojjena vihātabbaṃ, ahorattānusikkhinā kusalesu dhammesu.
   “Seyyathāpi, āvuso, itthī vā puriso vā, daharo yuvā maṇḍanajātiko, ādāse vā parisuddhe pariyodāte, acche vā udakapatte, sakaṃ mukhanimittaṃ paccavekkhamāno, sace tattha passati rajaṃ vā aṅgaṇaṃ vā, tasseva rajassa vā aṅgaṇassa vā pahānāya vāyamati; no ce tattha passati rajaṃ vā aṅgaṇaṃ vā, teneva attamano hoti– ‘lābhā vata me, parisuddhaṃ vata me’ti.
