懈怠事,哪八種?比丘們!這裡,有應該被比丘做的工作,他這麼想:『將有應該被我做的工作,但我做工作的身體將會疲勞,來吧!我躺臥。』他躺臥,不為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。比丘們!這是第一
懈怠事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,有應該被比丘做的工作,他這麼想:『我做工作,但我做工作的身體已疲勞,來吧!我躺臥。』他躺臥,不為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。比丘們!這是第二
懈怠事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,有應該被比丘行走的道路,他這麼想:『將有應該被我行走的道路,但我行走道路的身體將會疲勞,來吧!我躺臥。』他躺臥,不為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。比丘們!這是第三

懈怠事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,為了托鉢行走村落或城鎮的比丘完全盡所需地得到或粗或勝妙的食物,他這麼想:『為了托鉢行走村落或城鎮的我完全盡所需地得到或粗或勝妙的食物,那個我的身體是沉重的、不適合作業的,看起來像被豆子堆積,來吧!我躺臥。』他躺臥,不……(中略)發動活力。比丘們!這是第六
懈怠事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,比丘有生起的小病,他這麼想:『我有這生起的小病,是適合躺臥的,來吧!我躺臥。』他躺臥,不……(中略)發動活力。比丘們!這是第七
懈怠事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,比丘已從病痊癒,已從病痊癒不久,他這麼想:『我已從病痊癒,已從病痊癒不久,那個我的身體是無力的、不適合作業的,來吧!我躺臥。』他躺臥,不為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。比丘們!這是第八

比丘們!這裡,有應該被比丘做的工作,他這麼想:『將有應該被我做的工作,但世尊的教說不容易被做工作的我作意,來吧!我為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。』他為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。比丘們!這是第一發勤事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,有應該被比丘做的工作,他這麼想:『我做工作,但做工作的我不能夠作意世尊的教說,來吧!我為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。』他為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。比丘們!這是第二發勤事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,有應該被比丘行走的道路,他這麼想:『將有應該被我行走的道路,但世尊的教說不容易被行走道路的我作意,來吧!我……活力……』……(中略)比丘們!這是第三發勤事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,有應該被比丘行走的道路,他這麼想:『我行走道路,但世尊的教說不能夠被行走道路的我作意,來吧!我我……發動活力……』……(中略)比丘們!這是第四發勤事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,為了托鉢行走村落或城鎮的比丘沒完全盡所需地得到或粗或勝妙的食物,他這麼想:『為了托鉢行走村落或城鎮的我沒完全盡所需地得到或粗或勝妙的食物,那個我的身體是輕盈的、適合作業,來吧!我……發動活力……』……(中略)比丘們!這是第五發勤事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,為了托鉢行走村落或城鎮的比丘完全盡所需地得到或粗或勝妙的食物,他這麼想:『為了托鉢行走村落或城鎮的我完全盡所需地得到或粗或勝妙的食物,那個我的身體是有力的、適合作業,來吧!我……發動活力……』……(中略)比丘們!這是第六發勤事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,比丘有生起的小病,他這麼想:『我有這生起的小病,這存在可能性:凡我的病會增大,來吧!我……發動活力……』……(中略)比丘們!這是第七發勤事。
再者,比丘們!這裡,比丘已從病痊癒,已從病痊癒不久,他這麼想:『我已從病痊癒,已從病痊癒不久,這存在可能性:凡我的病會回轉,來吧!我為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。』他為了未得到的之得到、未達到的之達到、未作證的之作證發動活力。比丘們!這是第八發勤事。比丘們!這是八發勤事。」[DN.33, 334段, DN.34, 358段]

80. “Aṭṭhimāni bhikkhave, kusītavatthūni. Katamāni aṭṭha? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhunā kammaṃ kattabbaṃ hoti. Tassa evaṃ hoti– ‘kammaṃ kho me kattabbaṃ bhavissati. Kammaṃ kho pana me karontassa kāyo kilamissati. Handāhaṃ nipajjāmī’ti. So nipajjati, na vīriyaṃ ārabhati appattassa pattiyā anadhigatassa adhigamāya asacchikatassa sacchikiriyāya. Idaṃ, bhikkhave, paṭhamaṃ kusītavatthu.
“Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhunā kammaṃ kataṃ hoti. Tassa evaṃ hoti– ‘ahaṃ kho kammaṃ akāsiṃ. Kammaṃ kho pana me karontassa kāyo kilanto. Handāhaṃ nipajjāmī’ti. “Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno uppanno hoti appamattako ābādho. Tassa evaṃ hoti ‘uppanno kho me ayaṃ appamattako ābādho atthi kappo nipajjituṃ. Handāhaṃ nipajjāmī’ti. So nipajjati, na vīriyaṃ ārabhati …pe… idaṃ, bhikkhave, sattamaṃ kusītavatthu.
“Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu gilānā vuṭṭhito hoti aciravuṭṭhito gelaññā. Tassa evaṃ hoti– ‘ahaṃ kho gilānā vuṭṭhito aciravuṭṭhito gelaññā. Tassa me kāyo dubbalo akammañño. Handāhaṃ nipajjāmī’ti. So nipajjati, na vīriyaṃ ārabhati appattassa pattiyā anadhigatassa adhigamāya asacchikatassa sacchikiriyāya. Idaṃ, bhikkhave, aṭṭhamaṃ kusītavatthu. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, aṭṭha kusītavatthūni.

“Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno uppanno hoti appamattako ābādho. Tassa evaṃ hoti– uppanno kho me ayaṃ appamattako ābādho. Ṭhānaṃ kho panetaṃ vijjati yaṃ me ābādho pavaḍḍheyya. Handāhaṃ paṭikacceva vīriyaṃ ārabhāmi …pe… idaṃ, bhikkhave, sattamaṃ ārambhavatthu.
“Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu gilānā vuṭṭhito hoti aciravuṭṭhito gelaññā. Tassa evaṃ hoti– ‘ahaṃ kho gilānā vuṭṭhito aciravuṭṭhito gelaññā. Ṭhānaṃ kho panetaṃ vijjati yaṃ me ābādho paccudāvatteyya. Handāhaṃ paṭikacceva vīriyaṃ ārabhāmi appattassa pattiyā anadhigatassa adhigamāya asacchikatassa sacchikiriyāyā’ti. So vīriyaṃ ārabhati appattassa pattiyā anadhigatassa adhigamāya asacchikatassa sacchikiriyāya. Idaṃ, bhikkhave, aṭṭhamaṃ ārambhavatthu. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, aṭṭha ārambhavatthūnī”ti. Dasamaṃ.
