「
比丘們!具備八支為國王的賢駿馬、適合國王的、能被國王使用的,就名為『國王的一部分』,哪八個?比丘們!這裡,國王的賢駿馬從兩方是好的出身者:從母親與從父親,凡其它諸賢駿馬被生方位,在那些方位中被生。又,凡對牠給與食物:新鮮的或乾的,只恭敬地食用那個,不撒散地。是坐近或躺臥糞或尿的嫌惡者。是柔和者、安樂共住者,以及不使其它馬驚嚇者。又,凡牠有諸諂曲、詐欺、歪曲、不正直,是如實對調御者顯露那些者,馬調御者為那些的粉碎努力。又,是載運者,使心生起:『任其它馬運載或不要,我在這裡將運載。』又,走時,只以直道走。是強壯者,以直到生命的耗盡、死亡,是顯示力量者。比丘們!具備這八支為國王的賢駿馬、適合國王的、能被國王使用的,就名為『國王的一部分』。
同樣的,比丘們!具備八法的比丘是應該被奉獻者……(中略)世間的無上
福田,哪八個?比丘們!這裡,比丘是持戒者,住於被
波羅提木叉的
自制自制,具足正行行境,在諸微罪中看見可怕的,
在諸學處上受持後學習。又,凡對他給與食物:粗的或勝妙的,只恭敬地食用那個,不被惱害地。是以身惡行、以語惡行、以意惡行嫌惡者,是以種種惡不善法的
等至的嫌惡者。是柔和者,安樂共住者,不使其他比丘驚嚇者。又,凡他有諸諂曲、詐欺、歪曲、不正直,是如實在
大師或
同梵行智者們處顯露那些者,大師或同梵行智者們為那些的粉碎努力。又,是學習者,使心中生起:『任其他比丘學習或不要,我在這裡將學習。』又,走時,只以直道走,在那裡,這是直道,即:正見……(中略)正定。住於活力已被發動:『寧願剩下皮膚、肌腱、骨骸,身體中的血肉變乾,凡那個應該被人的力量、人的活力、人的努力達成的,那個沒達成後,將沒有活力的止息。』比丘們!具備這八法的比丘是應該被奉獻者……(中略)世間的無上福田。」

13. “Aṭṭhahi bhikkhave, aṅgehi samannāgato rañño bhaddo assājānīyo rājāraho hoti rājabhoggo, rañño aṅganteva saṅkhaṃ gacchati. Katamehi aṭṭhahi? Idha, bhikkhave, rañño bhaddo assājānīyo ubhato sujāto hoti– mātito ca pitito ca. Yassaṃ disāyaṃ aññepi bhaddā assājānīyā jāyanti, tassaṃ disāyaṃ jāto hoti. Yaṃ kho panassa bhojanaṃ denti– allaṃ vā sukkhaṃ vā – taṃ sakkaccaṃyeva paribhuñjati avikiranto. Jegucchī hoti uccāraṃ vā passāvaṃ vā abhinisīdituṃ vā abhinipajjituṃ vā. Sorato hoti sukhasaṃvāso, na ca aññe asse ubbejetā. Yāni kho panassa honti sāṭheyyāni kūṭeyyāni jimheyyāni vaṅkeyyāni, tāni yathābhūtaṃ sārathissa āvikattā hoti. Tesamassa sārathi abhinimmadanāya vāyamati. Vāhī kho pana hoti. ‘Kāmaññe assā vahantu vā mā vā, ahamettha vahissāmī’ti cittaṃ uppādeti. Gacchanto kho pana ujumaggeneva gacchati. Thāmavā hoti yāva jīvitamaraṇapariyādānā thāmaṃ upadaṃsetā. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, aṭṭhahi aṅgehi samannāgato rañño bhaddo assājānīyo rājāraho hoti rājabhoggo, rañño aṅganteva saṅkhaṃ gacchati.
“Evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, aṭṭhahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āhuneyyo hoti …pe… anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassa. Katamehi aṭṭhahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sīlavā hoti, pātimokkhasaṃvarasaṃvuto viharati ācāragocarasampanno aṇumattesu vajjesu bhayadassāvī, samādāya sikkhati sikkhāpadesu. Yaṃ kho panassa bhojanaṃ denti– lūkhaṃ vā paṇītaṃ vā– taṃ sakkaccaṃyeva paribhuñjati avihaññamāno. Jegucchī hoti kāyaduccaritena vacīduccaritena manoduccaritena; jegucchī hoti anekavihitānaṃ pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ samāpattiyā. Sorato hoti sukhasaṃvāso, na aññe bhikkhū ubbejetā. Yāni kho panassa honti sāṭheyyāni kūṭeyyāni jimheyyāni vaṅkeyyāni, tāni yathābhūtaṃ āvikattā hoti satthari vā viññūsu vā sabrahmacārīsu. Tesamassa satthā vā viññū vā sabrahmacārī abhinimmadanāya vāyamati. Sikkhitā kho pana hoti. ‘Kāmaññe bhikkhū sikkhantu vā mā vā, ahamettha sikkhissāmī’ti cittaṃ uppādeti. Gacchanto kho pana ujumaggeneva gacchati; tatrāyaṃ ujumaggo, seyyathidaṃ– sammādiṭṭhi …pe… sammāsamādhi. Āraddhavīriyo viharati– ‘kāmaṃ taco ca nhāru ca aṭṭhi ca avasissatu, sarīre upasussatu maṃsalohitaṃ; yaṃ taṃ purisathāmena purisavīriyena purisaparakkamena pattabbaṃ, na taṃ apāpuṇitvā vīriyassa saṇṭhānaṃ bhavissatī’ti. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, aṭṭhahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu āhuneyyo hoti …pe… anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassā”ti Tatiyaṃ.
