  有一次世尊住在波羅奈仙人落下處的鹿林。
  那時,世尊午前時穿衣、拿起衣鉢後,為了托鉢進入波羅奈城。在無花果樹繫牛處為了托鉢行走的世尊看見某位欠缺樂味的、外樂味的、念已忘失的、不正知的、不得定的、散亂心的、根不控制的比丘。看見後,對那位比丘說這個:
  「比丘!你不要對自己作不潔的(吐出的)!比丘!那位對自己作不潔者、以惡臭流漏者,蒼蠅們將不降落、將不落下,這不存在可能性。」那時,被世尊以這個教誡教誡的那位比丘來到急迫感。那時,世尊在波羅奈城為了托鉢行走後,餐後已從施食返回,召喚比丘們:「比丘們!這裡,我午前時穿衣、拿起衣鉢後,為了托鉢進入波羅奈城。比丘們!在無花果樹繫牛處為了托鉢行走的我看見某位欠缺樂味的、外樂味的、念已忘失的、不正知的、不得定的、散亂心的、根不控制的比丘。看見後,對那位比丘說這個:
  『比丘!你不要對自己作不潔的!比丘!對那位對自己作不潔者、以惡臭流漏者,蒼蠅們將不降落、將不落下,這不存在可能性。』那時,比丘們!被我以這個教誡教誡的那位比丘來到急迫感。」在這麼說時,某位比丘對世尊說這個:
  「大德!什麼是吐出的呢?什麼是惡臭?什麼是蒼蠅?」
  「比丘!貪婪是不潔的,惡意是惡臭,惡不善尋是蒼蠅。比丘!那位對自己作不潔者、以惡臭流漏者,蒼蠅們將不降落、將不落下,這不存在可能性。」
  「在眼耳上不守護者,在諸根上不自制者,
   蒼蠅們將降落,諸意向被貪依止者。
   污染的(不潔作的)比丘,惡臭流漏者,
   是從涅槃遠離者,只是苦惱的有分者
   不論在村落或在林野,沒得到自己的止(奢摩他)後,
   愚者、劣智慧者到達,被蒼蠅尾隨(置於前面)。
   而凡戒具足者,以慧樂於在寂靜處,
   擯逐蒼蠅後,寂靜者們睡得安樂。」
AN.3.129/ 6. Kaṭuviyasuttaṃ
   129. Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā bārāṇasiyaṃ viharati isipatane migadāye. Atha kho bhagavā pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya bārāṇasiṃ piṇḍāya pāvisi. Addasā kho bhagavā goyogapilakkhasmiṃ piṇḍāya caramāno aññataraṃ bhikkhuṃ rittassādaṃ bāhirassādaṃ muṭṭhassatiṃ asampajānaṃ asamāhitaṃ vibbhantacittaṃ pākatindriyaṃ. Disvā taṃ bhikkhuṃ etadavoca
   “Mā kho tvaṃ, bhikkhu, attānaṃ kaṭuviyamakāsi. Taṃ vata bhikkhu kaṭuviyakataṃ attānaṃ āmagandhena avassutaṃ makkhikā nānupatissanti nānvāssavissantīti, netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjatī”ti. Atha kho so bhikkhu bhagavatā iminā ovādena ovadito saṃvegamāpādi. Atha kho bhagavā bārāṇasiyaṃ piṇḍāya caritvā pacchābhattaṃ piṇḍapātapaṭikkanto bhikkhū āmantesi–
   “Idhāhaṃ, bhikkhave, pubbaṇhasamayaṃ nivāsetvā pattacīvaramādāya bārāṇasiṃ piṇḍāya pāvisiṃ. Addasaṃ kho ahaṃ, bhikkhave, goyogapilakkhasmiṃ piṇḍāya caramāno aññataraṃ bhikkhuṃ rittassādaṃ bāhirassādaṃ muṭṭhassatiṃ asampajānaṃ asamāhitaṃ vibbhantacittaṃ pākatindriyaṃ. Disvā taṃ bhikkhuṃ etadavocaṃ–
   “‘Mā kho tvaṃ, bhikkhu, attānaṃ kaṭuviyamakāsi. Taṃ vata bhikkhu kaṭuviyakataṃ attānaṃ āmagandhena avassutaṃ makkhikā nānupatissanti nānvāssavissantīti, netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjatī’ti. Atha kho, bhikkhave, so bhikkhu mayā iminā ovādena ovadito saṃvegamāpādī”ti. Evaṃ vutte aññataro bhikkhu bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – “kiṃ nu kho, bhante, kaṭuviyaṃ? Ko āmagandho? Kā makkhikā”ti?
   “Abhijjhā kho, bhikkhu, kaṭuviyaṃ; byāpādo āmagandho; pāpakā akusalā vitakkā makkhikā. Taṃ vata, bhikkhu, kaṭuviyakataṃ attānaṃ āmagandhena avassutaṃ makkhikā nānupatissanti nānvāssavissantīti, netaṃ ṭhānaṃ vijjatī”ti.
  “Aguttaṃ cakkhusotasmiṃ, indriyesu asaṃvutaṃ.
  Makkhikānupatissanti saṅkappā rāganissitā.
  “Kaṭuviyakato bhikkhu, āmagandhe avassuto;
  Ārakā hoti nibbānā, vighātasseva bhāgavā.
  “Gāme vā yadi vāraññe, aladdhā samathamattano.
  Pareti bālo dummedho, makkhikāhi purakkhato.
  “Ye ca sīlena sampannā, paññāyūpasameratā;
  Upasantā sukhaṃ senti, nāsayitvāna makkhikā”ti. Chaṭṭhaṃ.
