  那時,某位婆羅門去見世尊。抵達後,與世尊互相歡迎。……(中略)在一旁坐下的那位婆羅門對世尊說這個:
  「喬達摩尊師!被稱為『直接可見的法、直接可見的法』,喬達摩尊師!什麼情形法是直接可見的、即時的、請你來看的、能引導的、應該被智者各自經驗的?」
  「婆羅門!貪染者被貪征服,心被佔據,意圖對自己的傷害,也意圖對他人的傷害,也意圖對兩者的傷害,感受心的苦與憂。當貪已被捨斷時,既不意圖對自己的傷害,也不意圖對他人的傷害,也不意圖對兩者的傷害,不感受心的苦與憂。[婆羅門!貪染者被貪征服,心被佔據,以身行惡行,以語行惡行,以意行惡行。當貪已被捨斷時,既不以身行惡行,也不以語行惡行,也不以意行惡行。婆羅門!貪染者被貪征服,心被佔據,不如實知道自己的利益,也不如實知道他人的利益,也不如實知道兩者的利益。當貪已被捨斷時,如實知道自己的利益,也如實知道他人的利益,也如實知道兩者的利益。]婆羅門!這樣,法是直接可見的……(中略)。
  婆羅門!瞋怒者被瞋征服,心被佔據,意圖對自己的傷害,也意圖對他人的傷害,也意圖對兩者的傷害,感受心的苦與憂。當瞋已被捨斷時,既不意圖對自己的傷害,也不意圖對他人的傷害,也不意圖對兩者的傷害,不感受心的苦與憂。婆羅門!這樣,法是直接可見的……(中略)。
  婆羅門!愚癡者被愚癡征服,心被佔據,意圖對自己的傷害,也意圖對他人的傷害,也意圖對兩者的傷害,感受心的苦與憂。當愚癡已被捨斷時,既不意圖對自己的傷害,也不意圖對他人的傷害,也不意圖對兩者的傷害,不感受心的苦與憂。
  婆羅門!這樣,法是直接可見的、即時的、請你來看的、能引導的、應該被智者各自經驗的。」
  「太偉大了,喬達摩尊師!太偉大了,喬達摩尊師!喬達摩尊師!猶如扶正顛倒的,或揭開隱藏的,或告知迷路者的道路,或在黑暗中持燈火:『有眼者們看見諸色。』同樣的,法被喬達摩尊師以種種法門說明。這個我歸依喬達摩尊師、法、比丘僧團,請喬達摩尊師記得我為優婆塞,從今天起已起終生歸依。」
AN.3.54/ 3. Aññatarabrāhmaṇasuttaṃ
   54. Atha kho aññataro brāhmaṇo yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavatā saddhiṃ sammodi …pe… ekamantaṃ nisinno kho so brāhmaṇo bhagavantaṃ etadavoca– “‘sandiṭṭhiko dhammo sandiṭṭhiko dhammo’ti, bho gotama, vuccati. Kittāvatā nu kho, bho gotama, sandiṭṭhiko dhammo hoti akāliko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccattaṃ veditabbo viññūhī”ti?
   “Ratto kho, brāhmaṇa, rāgena abhibhūto pariyādinnacitto attabyābādhāyapi ceteti, parabyābādhāyapi ceteti, ubhayabyābādhāyapi ceteti, cetasikampi dukkhaṃ domanassaṃ paṭisaṃvedeti. Rāge pahīne nevattabyābādhāyapi ceteti, na parabyābādhāyapi ceteti, na ubhayabyābādhāyapi ceteti, na cetasikaṃ dukkhaṃ domanassaṃ paṭisaṃvedeti. (ratto kho …pe… kāyena duccaritaṃ carati, vācāya duccaritaṃ carati, manasā duccaritaṃ carati. Rāge pahīnā neva kāyena duccaritaṃ carati, na vācāya duccaritaṃ carati, na manasā duccaritaṃ carati.    “Mūḷho kho, brāhmaṇa, mohena abhibhūto pariyādinnacitto attabyābādhāyapi ceteti, parabyābādhāyapi ceteti, ubhayabyābādhāyapi ceteti, cetasikampi dukkhaṃ domanassaṃ paṭisaṃvedeti. Mohe pahīne nevattabyābādhāyapi ceteti, na parabyābādhāyapi ceteti, na ubhayabyābādhāyapi ceteti, na cetasikaṃ dukkhaṃ domanassaṃ paṭisaṃvedeti Evaṃ kho, brāhmaṇa, sandiṭṭhiko dhammo hoti akāliko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccattaṃ veditabbo viññūhī”ti.
   “Abhikkantaṃ, bho gotama, abhikkantaṃ, bho gotama! Seyyathāpi, bho gotama, nikkujjitaṃ vā ukkujjeyya, paṭicchannaṃ vā vivareyya, mūḷhassa vā maggaṃ ācikkheyya, andhakāre vā telapajjotaṃ dhāreyya– ‘cakkhumanto rūpāni dakkhantī’ti; evamevaṃ bhotā gotamena anekapariyāyena dhammo pakāsito. Esāhaṃ bhavantaṃ gotamaṃ saraṇaṃ gacchāmi dhammañca bhikkhusaṅghañca. Upāsakaṃ maṃ bhavaṃ gotamo dhāretu ajjatagge pāṇupetaṃ saraṇaṃ gatan”ti. Tatiyaṃ.
