  「比丘們!有這三種人現在存在世間中,哪三種呢?顛倒慧的人、膝慧的人、廣慧的人。
  比丘們!哪一種是顛倒慧的人呢?比丘們!這裡,某人是去僧園者,常常在比丘們面前聽聞法,比丘們教導他開頭是善的、中間是善的、完結是善的;有意義的有文字的法,說明完全圓滿、遍清淨的梵行,當他坐在那個座位上時,對那談論的開頭既不作意,中間也不作意、終結也不作意,當從那個座位起來後,對那談論的開頭既不作意,中間也不作意、終結也不作意,比丘們!猶如瓶子被傾倒,在那裡,已灌入的水倒出,不保存。同樣的,比丘們!這裡,某人是去僧園者,常常在比丘們面前聽聞法,比丘們教導他開頭是善的、中間是善的、完結是善的;有意義的、有文字的法,說明完全圓滿、遍純淨的梵行,當他坐在那個座位上時,對那談論的開頭既不作意,中間也不作意、終結也不作意,當從那個座位起來後,對那談論的開頭既不作意,中間也不作意、終結也不作意,比丘們!這被稱為顛倒慧的人。
  比丘們!哪一種是膝慧的人呢?比丘們!這裡,某人是去僧園者,常常在比丘們面前聽聞法,比丘們教導他開頭是善的、中間是善的、完結是善的;有意義的、有文字的法,說明完全圓滿、遍純淨的梵行,當他坐在那個座位上時,對那談論的開頭既作意,中間也作意、終結也作意,當從那個座位起來後,對那談論的開頭既不作意,中間也不作意、終結也不作意,比丘們!猶如男子的膝上有種種雜亂的硬食:芝麻、米、糖果、棗子,當他失念地從那個座位起來時,那些會散落。同樣的,比丘們!這裡,某人是去僧園者,常常在比丘們面前聽聞法,比丘們教導他開頭是善的、中間是善的、完結是善的;有意義的、有文字的法,說明完全圓滿、遍純淨的梵行,當他坐在那個座位上時,對那談論的開頭既作意,中間也作意、終結也作意,當從那個座位起來後,對那談論的開頭既不作意,中間也不作意、終結也不作意,比丘們!這被稱為膝慧的人。
  比丘們!哪一種是廣慧的人呢?比丘們!這裡,某人是去僧園者,常常在比丘們面前聽聞法,比丘們教導他開頭是善的、中間是善的、完結是善的;有意義的、有文字的法,說明完全圓滿、遍純淨的梵行,當他坐在那個座位上時,對那談論的開頭既作意,中間也作意、終結也作意,當從那個座位起來後,對那談論的開頭既作意,中間也作意、終結也作意,比丘們!猶如瓶子被直立,在那裡,已灌入的水保存,不倒出。同樣的,比丘們!這裡,某人是去僧園者,常常在比丘們面前聽聞法,比丘們教導他開頭是善的、中間是善的、完結是善的;有意義的、有文字的法,說明完全圓滿、遍純淨的梵行,當他坐在那個座位上時,對那談論的開頭既作意,中間也作意、終結也作意,當從那個座位起來後,對那談論的開頭既作意,中間也作意、終結也作意,比丘們!這被稱為廣慧的人。
  比丘們!這些是三種人現在存在世間中。」
  「顛倒慧的人,是劣智慧者、不明察者,
   他是常常,去比丘們面前者。
   談論的開頭與中間,以及終結像那樣的,
   他不能把握,因為他的慧不被發現。
   膝慧的人,被說為比這個好,
   他也是常常,去比丘們面前者。
   談論的開頭與中間,以及終結像那樣的,
   當坐在那個座位時,他把握字句,
   起來後不了知,他忘記所把握的。
   廣慧的人,被說為比這個好,
   他也是常常,去比丘們面前者。
   談論的開頭與中間,以及終結像那樣的,
   當坐在那個座位時,他把握字句。
   最上意向者憶持,心不混亂的
   他法、隨法行,會作苦的終結。」
  人品第三,其攝頌
  「三彌達、病人、行,多所助益、金剛,
   結交、嫌惡、糞語者,盲目者與顛倒。」

   30. “Tayome bhikkhave, puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame tayo? Avakujjapañño puggalo, ucchaṅgapañño puggalo, puthupañño puggalo. Katamo ca, bhikkhave, avakujjapañño puggalo? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo ārāmaṃ gantā hoti abhikkhaṇaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ santike dhammassavanāya. Tassa bhikkhū dhammaṃ desenti ādikalyāṇaṃ majjhekalyāṇaṃ pariyosānakalyāṇaṃ sātthaṃ sabyañjanaṃ, kevalaparipuṇṇaṃ parisuddhaṃ brahmacariyaṃ pakāsenti. So tasmiṃ āsane nisinno tassā kathāya neva ādiṃ manasi karoti, na majjhaṃ manasi karoti, na pariyosānaṃ manasi karoti; vuṭṭhitopi tamhā āsanā tassā kathāya neva ādiṃ manasi karoti, na majjhaṃ manasi karoti, na pariyosānaṃ manasi karoti. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, kumbho nikkujjo tatra udakaṃ āsittaṃ vivaṭṭati, no saṇṭhāti; evamevaṃ kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco puggalo ārāmaṃ gantā hoti abhikkhaṇaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ santike dhammassavanāya. Tassa bhikkhū dhammaṃ desenti ādikalyāṇaṃ majjhekalyāṇaṃ pariyosānakalyāṇaṃ sātthaṃ sabyañjanaṃ, kevalaparipuṇṇaṃ parisuddhaṃ brahmacariyaṃ pakāsenti.   “Avakujjapañño puriso, dummedho avicakkhaṇo;
  Abhikkhaṇampi ce hoti, gantā bhikkhūna santike.
  “Ādiṃ kathāya majjhañca, pariyosānañca tādiso;
  Uggahetuṃ na sakkoti, paññā hissa na vijjati.
  “Ucchaṅgapañño puriso, seyyo etena vuccati;
  Abhikkhaṇampi ce hoti, gantā bhikkhūna santike.
  “Ādiṃ kathāya majjhañca, pariyosānañca tādiso;
  Nisinno āsane tasmiṃ, uggahetvāna byañjanaṃ.
  Vuṭṭhito nappajānāti, gahitaṃ hissa mussati.
  “Puthupañño ca puriso, seyyo etehi vuccati;
  Abhikkhaṇampi ce hoti, gantā bhikkhūna santike.
  “Ādiṃ kathāya majjhañca, pariyosānañca tādiso;
  Nisinno āsane tasmiṃ, uggahetvāna byañjanaṃ.
  “Dhāreti seṭṭhasaṅkappo, abyaggamānaso naro;
  Dhammānudhammappaṭipanno, dukkhassantakaro siyā”ti. Dasamaṃ.

   Samiddha -gilāna-saṅkhārā, bahukārā vajirena ca.
