  被我這麼聽聞
  有一次世尊住在舍衛城祇樹林給孤獨園。
  那時,尊者三彌達與尊者摩訶拘絺羅去見尊者舍利弗。抵達後,與尊者舍利弗一起互相問候。交換應該被互相問候的友好交談後,在一旁坐下。在一旁坐下的尊者舍利弗對尊者三彌達說這個:
  「三彌達學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,哪三種呢?身證者達到見者信解脫者,學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,學友!哪種人你認為比較優勝、比較勝妙呢?」
  「舍利弗學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,哪三種呢?身證者、達到見者、信解脫者,學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,學友!這三種人中的信解脫者之人,這種人我認為是這三種人中比較優勝、比較勝妙者,那是什麼原因呢?學友!這個人的信根增上。」
  那時,尊者舍利弗對尊者摩訶拘絺羅說這個:
  「拘絺羅學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,哪三種呢?身證者、達到見者、信解脫者,學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,學友!哪種人你認為比較優勝、比較勝妙呢?」
  「舍利弗學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,哪三種呢?身證者、達到見者、信解脫者,學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,學友!這三種人中的身證者之人,這種人我認為是這三種人中比較優勝、比較勝妙者,那是什麼原因呢?學友!這個人的定根增上。」
  那時,尊者摩訶拘絺羅對尊者舍利弗說這個:
  「舍利弗學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,哪三種呢?身證者、達到見者、信解脫者,學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,學友!哪種人你認為比較優勝、比較勝妙呢?」
  「拘絺羅學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,哪三種呢?身證者、達到見者、信解脫者,學友!有這三種人現在存在世間中,學友!這三種人中的達到見者之人,這種人我認為是這三種人中比較優勝、比較勝妙者,那是什麼原因呢?學友!這個人的慧根增上。」
  那時,尊者舍利弗對尊者三彌達與尊者摩訶拘絺羅說這個:
  「學友們!如自己的理解全都被我們回答,學友們!我們走,讓我們去見世尊。抵達後,讓我們告訴世尊這件事,世尊將為我們解說,讓我們依那樣憶持它。」
  「是的,學友!」尊者三彌達與尊者摩訶拘絺羅回答尊者舍利弗。
  那時,尊者舍利弗、尊者三彌達、尊者摩訶拘絺羅去見世尊。抵達後,向世尊問訊後,在一旁坐下。在一旁坐下的尊者舍利弗告訴世尊與尊者三彌達、尊者摩訶拘絺羅一起有交談之所及的那一切。
  「舍利弗!在這裡不容易一向回答:『這三種人中這位比較優勝、比較勝妙。』舍利弗!這存在可能性:這位信解脫者之人會是 為阿羅漢狀態的向道者,而這位身證者之人會是一來者不還者,這位達到見者之人會是一來者或不還者。
  舍利弗!在這裡不容易一向地回答:『這三種人中這位比較優勝、比較勝妙。』舍利弗!這存在可能性:這位身證者之人會是為阿羅漢狀態的向道者,而這位信解脫者之人會是一來者或不還者,這位達到見者之人會是一來者或不還者。
  舍利弗!在這裡不容易一向地回答:『這三種人中這位比較優勝、比較勝妙。』舍利弗!這存在可能性:這位達到見者之人會是為阿羅漢狀態的向道者,而這位信解脫者之人會是一來者或不還者,這位身證者之人會是一來者或不還者。
  舍利弗!在這裡不容易一向地回答:『這三種人中這位比較優勝、比較勝妙。』」

1. Samiddhasuttaṃ
   21. Evaṃ me sutaṃ– ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Atha kho āyasmā ca samiddho āyasmā ca mahākoṭṭhiko yenāyasmā sāriputto tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā āyasmatā sāriputtena saddhiṃ sammodiṃsu. Sammodanīyaṃ kathaṃ sāraṇīyaṃ vītisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu. Ekamantaṃ nisinnaṃ kho āyasmantaṃ samiddhaṃ āyasmā sāriputto etadavoca–
   “Tayome, āvuso samiddha, puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame tayo? Kāyasakkhī, diṭṭhippatto, saddhāvimutto. Ime kho, āvuso, tayo puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Imesaṃ, āvuso, tiṇṇaṃ puggalānaṃ katamo te puggalo khamati abhikkantataro ca paṇītataro cā”ti?
   “Tayome, āvuso sāriputta, puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame tayo? Kāyasakkhī, diṭṭhippatto, saddhāvimutto. Ime kho, āvuso, tayo puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Imesaṃ, āvuso, tiṇṇaṃ puggalānaṃ yvāyaṃ puggalo saddhāvimutto, ayaṃ me puggalo khamati imesaṃ tiṇṇaṃ puggalānaṃ abhikkantataro ca paṇītataro ca. Taṃ kissa hetu? Imassa, āvuso, puggalassa saddhindriyaṃ adhimattan”ti.
   Atha kho āyasmā sāriputto āyasmantaṃ mahākoṭṭhikaṃ etadavoca – “tayome, āvuso koṭṭhika, puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ Katame tayo? Kāyasakkhī, diṭṭhippatto, saddhāvimutto. Ime kho, āvuso, tayo puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Imesaṃ āvuso, tiṇṇaṃ puggalānaṃ katamo te puggalo khamati abhikkantataro ca paṇītataro cā”ti?
   “Tayome āvuso sāriputta, puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame tayo? Kāyasakkhī, diṭṭhippatto, saddhāvimutto. Ime kho, āvuso, tayo puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Ime kho, āvuso, tayo puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Imesaṃ, āvuso, tiṇṇaṃ puggalānaṃ katamo te puggalo khamati abhikkantataro ca paṇītataro cā”ti?
   “Tayome, āvuso koṭṭhika, puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ. Katame tayo? Kāyasakkhī, diṭṭhippatto, saddhāvimutto. Ime kho, āvuso, tayo puggalā santo saṃvijjamānā lokasmiṃ.    Atha kho āyasmā sāriputto āyasmantañca samiddhaṃ āyasmantañca mahākoṭṭhikaṃ etadavoca– “byākataṃ kho, āvuso, amhehi sabbeheva yathāsakaṃ paṭibhānaṃ. Āyāmāvuso, yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamissāma; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocessāma. Yathā no bhagavā byākarissati tathā naṃ dhāressāmā”ti. “Evamāvuso”ti kho āyasmā ca samiddho āyasmā ca mahākoṭṭhiko āyasmato sāriputtassa paccassosuṃ. Atha kho āyasmā ca sāriputto āyasmā ca samiddho āyasmā ca mahākoṭṭhiko yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho āyasmā sāriputto yāvatako ahosi āyasmatā ca samiddhena āyasmatā ca mahākoṭṭhikena saddhiṃ kathāsallāpo taṃ sabbaṃ bhagavato ārocesi.
   “Na khvettha, sāriputta, sukaraṃ ekaṃsena byākātuṃ– ‘ayaṃ imesaṃ tiṇṇaṃ puggalānaṃ abhikkantataro ca paṇītataro cā’ti. Ṭhānañhetaṃ, sāriputta, vijjati yvāyaṃ puggalo saddhāvimutto svāssa arahattāya paṭipanno, yvāyaṃ puggalo kāyasakkhī svāssa sakadāgāmī vā anāgāmī vā, yo cāyaṃ puggalo diṭṭhippatto sopassa sakadāgāmī vā anāgāmī vā.
   “Na khvettha, sāriputta, sukaraṃ ekaṃsena byākātuṃ– ‘ayaṃ imesaṃ tiṇṇaṃ puggalānaṃ abhikkantataro ca paṇītataro cā’ti. Ṭhānañhetaṃ, sāriputta, vijjati yvāyaṃ puggalo kāyasakkhī svāssa arahattāya paṭipanno, yvāyaṃ puggalo saddhāvimutto svāssa sakadāgāmī vā anāgāmī vā, yo cāyaṃ puggalo diṭṭhippatto sopassa sakadāgāmī vā anāgāmī vā.
