  「比丘們!當入出息念之定已修習、已多修習時,有大果、大效益
  比丘們!當入出息念之定如何已修習、如何已多修習時,有大果、大效益呢?比丘們!這裡,比丘到林野,或到樹下,或到空屋,坐下,盤腿後,挺直身體,建立起面前的念後他只具念地吸氣、只具念地呼氣:
  當吸氣長時,他了知:『我吸氣長。』……(中略)
  他學習:『隨觀斷念,我將吸氣。』他學習:『隨觀斷念,我將呼氣。』
  比丘們!當入出息念之定這麼已修習、這麼已多修習時,有大果、大效益。
  比丘們!當我正覺以前,還是未現正覺菩薩時,我也多住於這同樣的住處。比丘們!當我以這住處多住時,不但身不疲倦,眼也不疲倦,我的心以不執取而從諸煩惱解脫。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『不但我的身不疲倦,眼也不疲倦,我的心以不執取而從諸煩惱解脫。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『我依靠家的憶念與意向被捨斷。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『在不厭逆上住於厭逆想。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『在厭逆上住於不厭逆想。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『在厭逆與不厭逆上住於厭逆想。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『在厭逆與不厭逆上住於不厭逆想。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『在不厭逆與厭逆兩者上都避免後住於平靜,具念、正知。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『從離欲、離不善法後,進入後住於有尋、有伺離而生喜、樂的初禪。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以尋與伺的平息,自信一心,進入後住於無尋、無伺,定而生喜、樂的第二禪。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以喜的褪去與住於平靜,有念、正知,以身體感受樂,進入後住於這聖弟子宣說:
  「他是平靜、具念、住於樂者」的第三禪。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以樂的捨斷與苦的捨斷,及以之前喜悅與憂的滅沒,進入後住於不苦不樂,由平靜而念遍淨的第四禪。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以一切色想的超越,以有對想的滅沒,以不作意種種想[而知]:『虛空是無邊的』,進入後住於虛空無邊處。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以一切虛空無邊處的超越[而知]:『識是無邊的』,進入後住於識無邊處。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以一切識無邊處的超越[而知]:『什麼都沒有』,進入後住於無所有處。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以一切無所有處的超越,進入後住於非想非非想處。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  因此,比丘們!在這裡,如果比丘希望:『以一切非想非非想處的超越,進入後住於想受滅。』就應該好好作意這入出息念之定。
  比丘們!當入出息念之定這麼已修習、這麼已多修習時,如果他感受樂受,他了知:『它是無常的。』他了知:『它是不被固執的。』他了知:『它是不被歡喜的。』
  如果他感受苦受,他了知:『它是無常的。』他了知:『它是不被固執的。』他了知:『它是不被歡喜的。』
  如果他感受不苦不樂受,他了知:『它是無常的。』他了知:『它是不被固執的。』他了知:『它是不被歡喜的。』
  如果他感受樂受,他已離繫地感受它;如果他感受苦受,他已離繫地感受它;如果他感受不苦不樂受,他已離繫地感受它。
  當他感受身體終了的感受時,他了知:『我感受身體終了的感受。』當他感受生命終了的感受時,他了知:『我感受生命終了的感受。』他了知:『以身體的崩解,隨後生命耗盡,就在這裡,一切被感受的、不被歡喜的都將成為清涼。』
  比丘們!猶如於油,與緣於燈芯,油燈才能燃燒,從其油與燈芯的耗盡,沒了食物,就會熄滅。同樣地,比丘們!當比丘感受身體終了的感受時,他了知:『我感受身體終了的感受。』當他感受生命終了的感受時,他了知:『我感受生命終了的感受。』他了知:『以身體的崩解,隨後生命耗盡,就在這裡,一切被感受的、不被歡喜的都將成為清涼。』」
SN.54.8/(8) Padīpopamasuttaṃ
   984. “Ānāpānassatisamādhi bhikkhave, bhāvito bahulīkato mahapphalo hoti mahānisaṃso. Kathaṃ bhāvito ca, bhikkhave, ānāpānassatisamādhi kathaṃ bahulīkato mahapphalo hoti mahānisaṃso?
   “Idha bhikkhave, bhikkhu araññagato vā rukkhamūlagato vā suññāgāragato vā nisīdati pallaṅkaṃ ābhujitvā ujuṃ kāyaṃ paṇidhāya parimukhaṃ satiṃ upaṭṭhapetvā. So satova assasati, satova passasati. Dīghaṃ vā assasanto ‘dīghaṃ assasāmī’ti pajānāti …pe… ‘paṭinissaggānupassī assasissāmī’ti sikkhati, ‘paṭinissaggānupassī passasissāmī’ti sikkhati. Evaṃ bhāvito kho, bhikkhave, ānāpānassatisamādhi evaṃ bahulīkato mahapphalo hoti mahānisaṃso.
   “Ahampi sudaṃ, bhikkhave, pubbeva sambodhā anabhisambuddho bodhisattova samāno iminā vihārena bahulaṃ viharāmi. Tassa mayhaṃ, bhikkhave, iminā vihārena bahulaṃ viharato neva kāyo kilamati na cakkhūni; anupādāya ca me āsavehi cittaṃ vimucci.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘neva me kāyo kilameyya na cakkhūni, anupādāya ca me āsavehi cittaṃ vimucceyyā’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘ye me gehasitā sarasaṅkappā te pahīyeyyun’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘appaṭikūle paṭikūlasaññī vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘paṭikūle appaṭikūlasaññī vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘paṭikūle ca appaṭikūle ca paṭikūlasaññī vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘paṭikūle ca appaṭikūle ca appaṭikūlasaññī vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘appaṭikūlañca paṭikūlañca tadubhayaṃ abhinivajjetvā upekkhako vihareyyaṃ sato sampajāno’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘vivicceva kāmehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakkaṃ savicāraṃ vivekajaṃ pītisukhaṃ paṭhamaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘vitakkavicārānaṃ vūpasamā ajjhattaṃ sampasādanaṃ cetaso ekodibhāvaṃ avitakkaṃ avicāraṃ samādhijaṃ pītisukhaṃ dutiyaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘pītiyā ca virāgā upekkhako ca vihareyyaṃ sato ca sampajāno, sukhañca kāyena paṭisaṃvedeyyaṃ, yaṃ taṃ ariyā ācikkhanti– upekkhako satimā sukhavihārīti tatiyaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘sukhassa ca pahānā dukkhassa ca pahānā pubbeva somanassadomanassānaṃ atthaṅgamā adukkhamasukhaṃ upekkhāsatipārisuddhiṃ catutthaṃ jhānaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘sabbaso rūpasaññānaṃ samatikkamā paṭighasaññānaṃ atthaṅgamā nānattasaññānaṃ amanasikārā ananto ākāsoti ākāsānañcāyatanaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘sabbaso ākāsānañcāyatanaṃ samatikkamma anantaṃ viññāṇanti viññāṇañcāyatanaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘sabbaso viññāṇañcāyatanaṃ samatikkamma natthi kiñcīti ākiñcaññāyatanaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘sabbaso ākiñcaññāyatanaṃ samatikkamma nevasaññānāsaññāyatanaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cepi ākaṅkheyya– ‘sabbaso nevasaññānāsaññāyatanaṃ samatikkamma saññāvedayitanirodhaṃ upasampajja vihareyyan’ti, ayameva ānāpānassatisamādhi sādhukaṃ manasi kātabbo.
   “Evaṃ bhāvite kho, bhikkhave, ānāpānassatisamādhimhi evaṃ bahulīkate, sukhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vedayati, sā ‘aniccā’ti pajānāti, ‘anajjhositā’ti pajānāti, ‘anabhinanditā’ti pajānāti; dukkhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vedayati, ‘sā aniccā’ti pajānāti, ‘anajjhositā’ti pajānāti, ‘anabhinanditā’ti pajānāti; adukkhamasukhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vedayati, ‘sā aniccā’ti pajānāti, ‘anajjhositā’ti pajānāti, ‘anabhinanditā’ti pajānāti”.
   “Sukhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vedayati, visaṃyutto naṃ vedayati; dukkhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vedayati, visaṃyutto naṃ vedayati; adukkhamasukhaṃ ce vedanaṃ vedayati, visaṃyutto naṃ vedayati. So kāyapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayamāno ‘kāyapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayāmī’ti pajānāti, jīvitapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayamāno ‘jīvitapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayāmī’ti pajānāti, ‘kāyassa bhedā uddhaṃ jīvitapariyādānā idheva sabbavedayitāni anabhinanditāni sītībhavissantī’ti pajānāti”.
   “Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, telañca paṭicca, vaṭṭiñca paṭicca telappadīpo jhāyeyya, tasseva telassa ca vaṭṭiyā ca pariyādānā anāhāro nibbāyeyya; evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kāyapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayamāno ‘kāyapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayāmī’ti pajānāti, jīvitapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayamāno ‘jīvitapariyantikaṃ vedanaṃ vedayāmī’ti pajānāti, ‘kāyassa bhedā uddhaṃ jīvitapariyādānā idheva sabbavedayitāni anabhinanditāni sītībhavissantī’ti pajānātī”ti.
