  當時,屋主質多生病、痛苦、重病。
  那時,眾多園林天神、樹林天神、樹木天神、居住在藥草與大樹中的諸天神會合後,對屋主質多這麼說:
  「屋主!請你發願為未來世轉輪王。」
  當這麼說時,屋主質多對那些園林天神、樹林天神、樹木天神、居住在藥草與大樹中的諸天神這麼說:
  「那也是無常的,那也是不穩定的,那也捨棄後應該走過去。」
  當這麼說時,屋主質多的朋友、同僚、親族、親屬對屋主質多這麼說:
  「貴族之子!請你提起念,不要胡言亂語。」
  「我對你們說了些什麼,使你們對我這麼說:『貴族之子!請你提起念,不要胡言亂語。』」
  「貴族之子!你這麼說:『那也是無常的,那也是不穩定的,那也捨棄後應該走過去。』」
  「那樣是因為諸園林天神、樹林天神、樹木天神、居住在藥草與大樹中的諸天神對我這麼說:『屋主!請你發願為未來世的轉輪王。』我對他們這麼說:『那也是無常的,……(中略)那也捨棄後應該走過去。』」
  「貴族之子!當看到什麼利益時,那些園林天神、樹林天神、樹木天神、居住在藥草與大樹中的諸天神這麼說:『屋主!請你發願為未來世的轉輪王。』」
  「那些園林天神、樹林天神、樹木天神、居住在藥草與大樹中的諸天神這樣想:『這位屋主質多是持戒者、善法者,如果他發願為未來世的轉輪王,以持戒者的清淨狀態,他的這心願將會成功,如法者必將獲得如法之果。』看到這利益時,那些園林天神、樹林天神、樹木天神、居住在藥草與大樹中的諸天神這麼說:『屋主!請你發願為未來世的轉輪王。』我對他們這麼說:『那也是無常的,那也是不穩定的,那也捨棄後應該走過去。』」
  「那樣的話,貴族之子!請你告誡我們!」
  「因此,你們應該這麼學:
  『我們要具備對佛的不壞淨:「像這樣,那位世尊阿羅漢遍正覺者明與行具足者善逝世間知者應該被調御人的無上調御者人天之師佛陀、世尊。」
  我們要對法具備不壞淨:「法是被世尊善說的、直接可見的、即時的、請你來見的、能引導的、智者應該自己經驗的。」
  我們要對僧團具備不壞淨:「世尊的弟子僧團是依善而行者,世尊的弟子僧團是依正直而行者,世尊的弟子僧團是依真理而行者,世尊的弟子僧團是如法而行者,即:四雙之人、八輩之士,這世尊的弟子僧團應該被奉獻、應該被供奉、應該被供養、應該被合掌,為世間的無上福田。」』
  凡在家族中任何能施之物,一切將無差別的施與持戒者、善法者,你們應該這麼學!」
  那時,屋主質多勸導朋友、同僚、親族、親屬對佛、法、僧團、施[的不壞淨]後,過世了。
  質多羅相應完成,其攝頌
  「結,梨犀達多二則,摩訶迦,迦摩浮,
   與苟達多、尼乾陀,裸行者與見病。」
SN.41.10. Gilānadassanasuttaṃ
   352. Tena kho pana samayena citto gahapati ābādhiko hoti dukkhito bāḷhagilāno. Atha kho sambahulā ārāmadevatā vanadevatā rukkhadevatā osadhitiṇavanappatīsu adhivatthā devatā saṅgamma samāgamma cittaṃ gahapatiṃ etadavocuṃ – “paṇidhehi, gahapati, anāgatamaddhānaṃ rājā assaṃ cakkavattī”ti.
   Evaṃ vutte, citto gahapati tā ārāmadevatā vanadevatā rukkhadevatā osadhitiṇavanappatīsu adhivatthā devatā etadavoca– “tampi aniccaṃ, tampi addhuvaṃ, tampi pahāya gamanīyan”ti. Evaṃ vutte, cittassa gahapatino mittāmaccā ñātisālohitā cittaṃ gahapatiṃ etadavocuṃ– “satiṃ, ayyaputta, upaṭṭhapehi, mā vippalapī”ti. “Kiṃ tāhaṃ vadāmi yaṃ maṃ tumhe evaṃ vadetha– ‘satiṃ, ayyaputta, upaṭṭhapehi, mā vippalapī’”ti? “Evaṃ kho tvaṃ, ayyaputta, vadesi– ‘tampi aniccaṃ, tampi addhuvaṃ, tampi pahāya gamanīyan’”ti. “Tathā hi pana maṃ ārāmadevatā vanadevatā rukkhadevatā osadhitiṇavanappatīsu adhivatthā devatā evamāhaṃsu– ‘paṇidhehi, gahapati, anāgatamaddhānaṃ rājā assaṃ cakkavattī’ti. Tāhaṃ evaṃ vadāmi– ‘tampi aniccaṃ …pe… tampi pahāya gamanīyan’”ti. “Kiṃ pana tā, ayyaputta, ārāmadevatā vanadevatā rukkhadevatā osadhitiṇavanappatīsu adhivatthā devatā atthavasaṃ sampassamānā evamāhaṃsu – ‘paṇidhehi, gahapati, anāgatamaddhānaṃ rājā assaṃ cakkavattī’”ti? “Tāsaṃ kho ārāmadevatānaṃ vanadevatānaṃ rukkhadevatānaṃ osadhitiṇavanappatīsu adhivatthānaṃ devatānaṃ evaṃ hoti – ‘ayaṃ kho citto gahapati, sīlavā kalyāṇadhammo. Sace paṇidahissati– anāgatamaddhānaṃ rājā assaṃ cakkavattī’ti, ‘tassa kho ayaṃ ijjhissati, sīlavato cetopaṇidhi visuddhattā dhammiko dhammikaṃ phalaṃ anupassatī’ti. Imaṃ kho tā ārāmadevatā vanadevatā rukkhadevatā osadhitiṇavanappatīsu adhivatthā devatā atthavasaṃ sampassamānā evamāhaṃsu– ‘paṇidhehi, gahapati, anāgatamaddhānaṃ rājā assaṃ cakkavattī’ti. Tāhaṃ evaṃ vadāmi– ‘tampi aniccaṃ, tampi addhuvaṃ, tampi pahāya gamanīyan’”ti.
   “Tena hi, ayyaputta, amhepi ovadāhī”ti. “Tasmā hi vo evaṃ sikkhitabbaṃ– buddhe aveccappasādena samannāgatā bhavissāma– ‘itipi so bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho vijjācaraṇasampanno sugato lokavidū anuttaro purisadammasārathi satthā devamanussānaṃ buddho bhagavā’ti. Dhamme aveccappasādena samannāgatā bhavissāma– ‘svākkhāto bhagavatā dhammo sandiṭṭhiko akāliko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccattaṃ veditabbo viññūhī’ti. Saṅghe aveccappasādena samannāgatā bhavissāma– ‘suppaṭipanno bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho, ujuppaṭipanno bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho, ñāyappaṭipanno bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho, sāmīcippaṭipanno bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho, yadidaṃ cattāri purisayugāni aṭṭha purisapuggalā esa bhagavato sāvakasaṅgho āhuneyyo pāhuneyyo dakkhiṇeyyo añjalikaraṇīyo anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassā’ti. Yaṃ kho pana kiñci kule deyyadhammaṃ sabbaṃ taṃ appaṭivibhattaṃ bhavissati sīlavantehi kalyāṇadhammehīti evañhi vo sikkhitabban”ti. Atha kho citto gahapati mittāmacce ñātisālohite buddhe ca dhamme ca saṅghe ca cāge ca samādapetvā kālamakāsīti. Dasamaṃ.

   Saṃyojanaṃ dve isidattā, mahako kāmabhūpi ca;
   Godatto ca nigaṇṭho ca, acelena gilānadassananti.
漢巴經文比對(莊春江作):
  「如法者必將獲得如法之果」(dhammiko dhammikaṃ phalaṃ anupassatī,原意為「如法者必將觀察如法之果」),菩提比丘長老依錫蘭本(dhammiko dhammarāja dhammikaṃ baliṃ anuppadassati)英譯為「正義的正義之王將提供[我們]正義的供養」(The righteous king of righteousness will provide righteous offerings),並說明「錫蘭本有唯一正確的讀法」(Se alone has the correct reading),而將「法王」(dhammarāja)譯為「正義之王」,是因為「法王」只適於佛陀的形容詞(properly an epithet only of the Buddha),而不宜用來稱轉輪王。按:「必將觀察」,今依錫蘭本譯為「將獲得」。
