  有一次世尊住在王舍城耆闍崛山
  在那裡,世尊召喚比丘們:「比丘們!」
  「尊師!」那些比丘回答世尊。
  世尊這麼說:
  「比丘們!輪迴是無始的,無明所蓋、渴愛所繫之眾生的流轉、輪迴,起始點是不被了知的。
  比丘們!從前,這毘富羅山的稱呼是巴支那伐沙,比丘們!當時,人們的稱呼是低伐羅,比丘們!低伐羅人的壽命量為四萬年,比丘們!低伐羅人以四天登巴支那伐沙山,以四天下來。比丘們!當時,拘留孫世尊、阿羅漢、遍正覺者出現於世間,比丘們!拘留孫世尊、阿羅漢、遍正覺者的第一雙賢、雙弟子名叫毘樓、薩尼。比丘們!你們看!這座山的稱呼已消失了,那些人死了,而且,那位世尊般涅槃了,比丘們!諸行這樣無常,比丘們!諸行這樣不堅固,比丘們!諸行這樣不安,比丘們!到此,就足以要對一切行!足以要離染!足以要解脫!
  比丘們!從前,這毘富羅山的稱呼是梵迦迦,比丘們!當時,人們的稱呼是羅西塔沙,比丘們!羅西塔沙人的壽命量為三萬年,比丘們!羅西塔沙人以三天登梵迦迦山,以三天下來。比丘們!當時,拘那含世尊、阿羅漢、遍正覺者出現於世間,比丘們!拘那含世尊、阿羅漢、遍正覺者的第一雙賢、雙弟子名叫舒槃那、鬱多樓。比丘們!你們看!這座山的稱呼已消失了,那些人死了,而且,那位世尊般涅槃了,比丘們!諸行這樣無常,……(中略)足以要解脫!
  比丘們!從前,這毘富羅山的稱呼是殊巴沙,比丘們!當時,人們的稱呼是殊必雅,比丘們!殊必雅人的壽命量為二萬年,比丘們!殊必雅人以二天登殊巴沙山,以二天下來。比丘們!當時,迦葉世尊、阿羅漢、遍正覺者出現於世間,比丘們!迦葉世尊、阿羅漢、遍正覺者的第一雙賢、雙弟子名叫提舍、婆羅婆。比丘們!你們看!這座山的稱呼已消失了,那些人死了,而且,那位世尊般涅槃了,比丘們!諸行這樣無常,……(中略)足以要解脫!
  而,比丘們!現在,這毘富羅山的稱呼是毘富羅,比丘們!現在,這些人的稱呼是摩揭陀,比丘們!摩揭陀人的壽命量少、微、短,活得長者[才]百歲或多些,比丘們!摩揭陀人以一會兒登毘富羅山,以一會兒下來。而,比丘們!現在,我世尊、阿羅漢、遍正覺者出現於世間,而,比丘們!我的第一雙賢、雙弟子名舍利弗、目揵連。
  比丘們!未來時,這座山的稱呼必將消失,這些人必將死亡,而我必將般涅槃,比丘們!諸行這樣無常,比丘們!諸行這樣不堅固,比丘們!諸行這樣不安,比丘們!到此,就足以要對一切行厭!足以要離染!足以要解脫!」
  這就是世尊所說,說了這個後,善逝大師又更進一步這麼說:
  「對低伐羅來說是巴支那伐沙,對羅西塔沙來說是梵迦迦,
   對殊必雅來說是殊巴沙,而對摩揭陀來說是毘富羅。
   諸行確實是無常的,是生起與消散法
   生起後被滅,它們的平息是樂。」
  第二品,其攝頌
  「不幸與快樂,三十位、母親與父親,
   兄弟、姊妹、兒子,女兒、毘富羅山。」
  無始相應完成。
SN.15.20/(10). Vepullapabbatasuttaṃ
   143. Ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā rājagahe viharati gijjhakūṭe pabbate. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi– “bhikkhavo”ti. “Bhadante”ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca–
   “Anamataggoyaṃ, bhikkhave, saṃsāro. Pubbā koṭi na paññāyati avijjānīvaraṇānaṃ sattānaṃ taṇhāsaṃyojanānaṃ sandhāvataṃ saṃsarataṃ. Bhūtapubbaṃ, bhikkhave, imassa vepullassa pabbatassa ‘pācīnavaṃso’tveva samaññā udapādi. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave samayena manussānaṃ ‘tivarā’tveva samaññā udapādi. Tivarānaṃ, bhikkhave, manussānaṃ cattārīsa vassasahassāni āyuppamāṇaṃ ahosi. Tivarā, bhikkhave, manussā pācīnavaṃsaṃ pabbataṃ catūhena ārohanti, catūhena orohanti. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave samayena kakusandho bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno hoti. Kakusandhassa, bhikkhave, bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa vidhurasañjīvaṃ nāma sāvakayugaṃ ahosi aggaṃ bhaddayugaṃ. Passatha, bhikkhave, sā cevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antarahitā, te ca manussā kālaṅkatā, so ca bhagavā parinibbuto. Evaṃ aniccā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ addhuvā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ anassāsikā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā. Yāvañcidaṃ, bhikkhave, alameva sabbasaṅkhāresu nibbindituṃ, alaṃ virajjituṃ, alaṃ vimuccituṃ.
   “Bhūtapubbaṃ bhikkhave, imassa vepullassa pabbatassa ‘vaṅkako’tveva samaññā udapādi. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave, samayena manussānaṃ ‘rohitassā’tveva samaññā udapādi. Rohitassānaṃ, bhikkhave, manussānaṃ tiṃsavassasahassāni āyuppamāṇaṃ ahosi. Rohitassā, bhikkhave, manussā vaṅkakaṃ pabbataṃ tīhena ārohanti, tīhena orohanti. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave, samayena koṇāgamano bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno hoti. Koṇāgamanassa, bhikkhave, bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa bhiyyosuttaraṃ nāma sāvakayugaṃ ahosi aggaṃ bhaddayugaṃ. Passatha, bhikkhave, sā cevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antarahitā, te ca manussā kālaṅkatā, so ca bhagavā parinibbuto. Evaṃ aniccā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā …pe… alaṃ vimuccituṃ.
   “Bhūtapubbaṃ, bhikkhave, imassa vepullassa pabbatassa ‘supasso’tveva samaññā udapādi. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave, samayena manussānaṃ ‘suppiyā’tveva samaññā udapādi. Suppiyānaṃ, bhikkhave, manussānaṃ vīsativassasahassāni āyuppamāṇaṃ ahosi. Suppiyā, bhikkhave, manussā supassaṃ pabbataṃ dvīhena ārohanti, dvīhena orohanti. Tena kho pana, bhikkhave, samayena kassapo bhagavā arahaṃ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno hoti. Kassapassa, bhikkhave, bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa tissabhāradvājaṃ nāma sāvakayugaṃ ahosi aggaṃ bhaddayugaṃ. Passatha, bhikkhave, sā cevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antarahitā, te ca manussā kālaṅkatā, so ca bhagavā parinibbuto. Evaṃ aniccā bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ addhuvā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā …pe… alaṃ vimuccituṃ.
   “Etarahi kho pana, bhikkhave, imassa vepullassa pabbatassa ‘vepullo’tveva samaññā udapādi. Etarahi kho pana, bhikkhave, imesaṃ manussānaṃ ‘māgadhakā’tveva samaññā udapādi. Māgadhakānaṃ, bhikkhave, manussānaṃ appakaṃ āyuppamāṇaṃ parittaṃ lahukaṃ; yo ciraṃ jīvati so vassasataṃ appaṃ vā bhiyyo. Māgadhakā, bhikkhave, manussā vepullaṃ pabbataṃ muhuttena ārohanti muhuttena orohanti. Etarahi kho panāhaṃ, bhikkhave, arahaṃ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno. Mayhaṃ kho pana, bhikkhave, sāriputtamoggallānaṃ nāma sāvakayugaṃ aggaṃ bhaddayugaṃ. Bhavissati, bhikkhave, so samayo yā ayañcevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antaradhāyissati, ime ca manussā kālaṃ karissanti, ahañca parinibbāyissāmi. Evaṃ aniccā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ addhuvā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā; evaṃ anassāsikā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā. Yāvañcidaṃ, bhikkhave, alameva sabbasaṅkhāresu nibbindituṃ, alaṃ virajjituṃ, alaṃ vimuccitun”ti.
   Idamavoca bhagavā. Idaṃ vatvāna sugato athāparaṃ etadavoca satthā–
   “Pācīnavaṃso tivarānaṃ, rohitassāna vaṅkako;
   Suppiyānaṃ supassoti, māgadhānañca vepullo.
   “Aniccā vata saṅkhārā, uppādavayadhammino;
   Uppajjitvā nirujjhanti, tesaṃ vūpasamo sukho”ti. Dasamaṃ.
   Dutiyo vaggo.
   Tassuddānaṃ–
   Duggataṃ sukhitañceva, tiṃsa mātāpitena ca;
   Bhātā bhaginī putto ca, dhītā vepullapabbataṃ.
   Anamataggasaṃyuttaṃ samattaṃ.
