  被我這麼聽聞
  有一次世尊住在逼西那拉的玻里哈勒那叢林。
  在那裡,世尊召喚比丘們:「比丘們!」
  「尊師!」那些比丘回答世尊。
  世尊說這個:
  「你們於我如何想:沙門喬達摩因衣服教導法,或沙門喬達摩因施食教導法,或沙門喬達摩因住處教導法,或沙門喬達摩因如是有無教導法?」
  「大德!我們對世尊不這麼想:沙門喬達摩因衣服教導法,或沙門喬達摩因施食教導法,或沙門喬達摩因住處教導法,或沙門喬達摩因如是有無教導法。」
  「比丘們!你們於我不這麼想:沙門喬達摩因衣服教導法……(中略)沙門喬達摩因如是有無教導法,比丘們!又,那麼,你們於我如何想?」
  「大德!我們在世尊上這麼想:世尊是有憐愍者、利益者,出自憐愍教導法。」
  「比丘們!確實,你們於我這麼想:世尊是有憐愍者、利益者,出自憐愍教導法。(34)
  比丘們!因此,在這裡,凡被我證知後教導你們的法,即:四念住四正勤四神足、五根、五力、七覺支八支聖道,在那裡,就應該被全部、和合、和諧、無諍地學。比丘們!而當那些你們和合、和諧、無諍地學時,兩位比丘在增上法上可能有異說,在那裡,如果你們這麼想:『這些尊者的義理不同,同時也辭句不同。』在那裡,凡你們認為比較容易說服的比丘,去見他後,應該被這麼說:『尊者們的義理不同,同時也辭句不同,尊者們!那樣,請你們也以這個知道:如是,義理不同,同時也辭句不同。尊者們!你們不要來到諍論。』而另一邊黨派比丘們中,凡你們認為比較容易說服的比丘,去見他後,應該被這麼說:『尊者們的義理不同,同時也辭句不同,尊者們!那樣,請你們也以這個知道:如是,義理不同,同時也辭句不同。尊者們!你們不要來到諍論。』像這樣,應該使惡把握的被憶持為惡把握的;應該使善把握的被憶持為善把握的。應該使惡把握的被憶持為惡把握的後,應該使善把握的被憶持為善把握的後,凡法、凡律者,那個應該被說。(35)

  在那裡,如果你們這麼想:『這些尊者的義理相合,同時也辭句相合。』在那裡,凡你們認為比較容易說服的比丘,去見他後,應該被這麼說:『尊者們的義理相合,同時也辭句相合,尊者們!那樣,請你們也以這個知道:如是,義理相合,同時也辭句相合,尊者們!你們不要來到諍論。』而另一邊黨派比丘們中,凡你們認為比較容易說服的比丘,去見他後,應該被這麼說:『尊者們的義理相合,同時也辭句相合,尊者們!那樣,請你們也以這個知道:如是,義理相合,同時也辭句相合,尊者們!你們不要來到諍論。』像這樣,應該使善把握的被憶持為善把握的。應該使善把握的被憶持為善把握的後,凡法、凡律者,那個應該被說。(38)
  比丘們!而當你們和合、和諧、無諍地學時,某位比丘如果有罪過,如果有違犯,比丘們!在那裡,不急忙地有呵責,個人應該被考察:『像這樣,將有我的無傷害(加害),以及對方個人的無惱害,因為對方個人是不易憤怒者、不懷怨恨者、不固執見者、易捨離者,而我能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立。』比丘們!如果這麼想,是言說的時機。
  比丘們!又,如果這麼想:『將有我的無傷害,以及對方個人的惱害,因為對方個人是易憤怒者、懷怨恨者、不固執見者、易捨離者,而我能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立,但,這是小事,即:對方個人的惱害,而這正是更大的:那個我能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立。』比丘們!如果這麼想,是言說的時機。
  比丘們!又,如果這麼想:『將有我的傷害,以及對方個人的無惱害,因為對方個人是不易憤怒者、不懷怨恨者、固執見者、難捨離者,而我能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立,但,這是小事,即:我的傷害,而這正是更大的:那個我能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立。』比丘們!如果這麼想,是言說的時機。
  比丘們!又,如果這麼想:『將有我的傷害,以及對方個人的惱害,因為對方個人是易憤怒者、懷怨恨者、固執見者、難捨離者,而我能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立,但,這是小事,即:將有我的傷害,以及對方個人的惱害,而這正是更大的:那個我能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立。』比丘們!如果這麼想,是言說的時機。
  比丘們!又,如果這麼想:『將有我的傷害,以及對方個人的惱害,因為對方個人是易憤怒者、懷怨恨者、固執見者、難捨離者,而我不能夠使這位個人從不善的中出來後,使在善的上建立。』比丘們!在像這樣的個人上,平靜不應該被輕視。(39)
  比丘們!而當你們和合、和諧、無諍地學時,如果互相言語的征服、見的專橫、心的瞋害、不高興、不滿意生起,在那裡,一邊黨派比丘們中,凡你們認為比較容易說服的比丘,去見他後,應該被這麼說:『學友!凡當我們和合、和諧、無諍地學時,我們互相言語的征服、見的專橫、心的瞋害、不高興、不滿意已生起,當沙門知道它時,會呵責?』比丘們!當正確回答時,比丘應該這麼回答:『學友!凡當我們和合、和諧、無諍地學時,我們互相言語的征服、見的專橫、心的瞋害、不高興、不滿意已生起,當沙門知道它時,會呵責。』『學友!又,不捨斷這個法後,涅槃能被作證?』比丘們!當正確回答時,比丘應該這麼回答:『學友!不捨斷此法後,涅槃不能被作證。』
  而另一邊黨派比丘們中,凡你們認為比較容易說服的比丘,去見他後,應該被這麼說:『學友!凡當我們和合、和諧、無諍地學時,我們互相言語的征服、見的專橫、心的瞋害、不高興、不滿意已生起,當沙門知道它時,會呵責?』比丘們!當正確回答時,比丘應該這麼回答:『學友!凡當我們和合、和諧、無諍地學時,我們互相言語的征服、見的專橫、心的瞋害、不高興、不滿意已生起,當沙門知道它時,會呵責。』『學友!又,不捨斷這個法後,涅槃能被作證?』比丘們!當正確回答時,比丘應該這麼回答:『學友!不捨斷此法後,涅槃不能被作證。』
  比丘們!如果其他人這麼詢問那位比丘:『那些比丘從不善的中出來後,被尊者使在善的上建立?』比丘們!當正確回答時,比丘應該這麼回答:『學友們!這裡,我去見世尊,世尊為我教導那個法,我聽聞那個法後,對那些比丘說,那些比丘聽聞那個法後,從不善的中出來,在善的上建立。』比丘們!當這麼回答時,比丘既沒讚揚自己,也沒輕蔑他人,他法隨法地回答,而任何如法的種種說不來到應該被呵責處。」
  世尊說這個,那些悅意的比丘歡喜世尊的所說。(40)
  如何經第三終了。
MN.103/(3) Kintisuttaṃ
   34. Evaṃ me sutaṃ– ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā pisinārāyaṃ viharati baliharaṇe vanasaṇḍe. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi– “bhikkhavo”ti. “Bhadante”ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ. Bhagavā etadavoca– “kinti vo bhikkhave, mayi hoti– ‘cīvarahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ deseti, piṇḍapātahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ deseti, senāsanahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ deseti, itibhavābhavahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ desetī’”ti? “Na kho no, bhante, bhagavati evaṃ hoti– ‘cīvarahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ deseti, piṇḍapātahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ deseti, senāsanahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ deseti, itibhavābhavahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ desetī’”ti.
   “Na ca kira vo, bhikkhave, mayi evaṃ hoti– ‘cīvarahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ deseti …pe… itibhavābhavahetu vā samaṇo gotamo dhammaṃ desetī’ti; atha kinti carahi vo, bhikkhave, mayi hotī”ti? “Evaṃ kho no, bhante, bhagavati hoti– ‘anukampako bhagavā hitesī; anukampaṃ upādāya dhammaṃ desetī’”ti. “Evañca kira vo, bhikkhave, mayi hoti– ‘anukampako bhagavā hitesī; anukampaṃ upādāya dhammaṃ desetī’”ti.
   35. “Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, ye vo mayā dhammā abhiññā desitā, seyyathidaṃ– cattāro satipaṭṭhānā cattāro sammappadhānā cattāro iddhipādā pañcindriyāni pañca balāni satta bojjhaṅgā ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo, tattha sabbeheva samaggehi sammodamānehi avivadamānehi sikkhitabbaṃ. Tesañca vo, bhikkhave, samaggānaṃ sammodamānānaṃ avivadamānānaṃ sikkhataṃ siyaṃsu dve bhikkhū abhidhamme nānāvādā. Tatra ce tumhākaṃ evamassa– ‘imesaṃ kho āyasmantānaṃ atthato ceva nānaṃ byañjanato ca nānan’ti, tattha yaṃ bhikkhuṃ suvacataraṃ maññeyyātha so upasaṅkamitvā evamassa vacanīyo– ‘āyasmantānaṃ kho atthato ceva nānaṃ, byañjanato ca nānaṃ. Puggalo upaparikkhitabbo– ‘iti mayhañca avihesā bhavissati parassa ca puggalassa anupaghāto, paro hi puggalo akkodhano anupanāhī adaḷhadiṭṭhī suppaṭinissaggī, sakkomi cāhaṃ etaṃ puggalaṃ akusalā vuṭṭhāpetvā kusale patiṭṭhāpetun’ti. Sace, bhikkhave, evamassa, kallaṃ vacanāya.
   “Sace pana, bhikkhave, evamassa– ‘mayhaṃ kho avihesā bhavissati parassa ca puggalassa upaghāto, paro hi puggalo kodhano upanāhī adaḷhadiṭṭhī suppaṭinissaggī, sakkomi cāhaṃ etaṃ puggalaṃ akusalā vuṭṭhāpetvā kusale patiṭṭhāpetuṃ. Appamattakaṃ kho panetaṃ yadidaṃ – parassa puggalassa upaghāto. Atha kho etadeva bahutaraṃ– svāhaṃ sakkomi etaṃ puggalaṃ akusalā vuṭṭhāpetvā kusale patiṭṭhāpetun’ti Sace, bhikkhave, evamassa, kallaṃ vacanāya.

Tattha ekatopakkhikānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ yaṃ bhikkhuṃ suvacataraṃ maññeyyātha so upasaṅkamitvā evamassa vacanīyo– ‘yaṃ no, āvuso, amhākaṃ samaggānaṃ sammodamānānaṃ avivadamānānaṃ sikkhataṃ aññamaññassa vacīsaṃhāro uppanno diṭṭhipaḷāso cetaso āghāto appaccayo anabhiraddhi, taṃ jānamāno samaṇo garaheyyā’ti.    “Taṃ ce, bhikkhave, bhikkhuṃ pare evaṃ puccheyyuṃ– ‘āyasmatā no ete bhikkhū akusalā vuṭṭhāpetvā kusale patiṭṭhāpitā’ti? Sammā byākaramāno, bhikkhave, bhikkhu evaṃ byākareyya ‘idhāhaṃ, āvuso, yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṃ, tassa me bhagavā dhammaṃ desesi, tāhaṃ dhammaṃ sutvā tesaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ abhāsiṃ. Taṃ te bhikkhū dhammaṃ sutvā akusalā vuṭṭhahiṃsu, kusale patiṭṭhahiṃsū’ti. Evaṃ byākaramāno kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu na ceva attānaṃ ukkaṃseti, na paraṃ vambheti, dhammassa cānudhammaṃ byākaroti, na ca koci sahadhammiko vādānuvādo gārayhaṃ ṭhānaṃ āgacchatī”ti.
   Idamavoca bhagavā. Attamanā te bhikkhū bhagavato bhāsitaṃ abhinandunti.
   Kintisuttaṃ niṭṭhitaṃ tatiyaṃ.
漢巴經文比對(莊春江作):
  「在增上法上」(abhidhamme),智髻比丘長老英譯為「關於更高的法」(about the higher Dhamma)。按:《破斥猶豫》以「在殊勝法上,在這些三十七菩提分法上」解說。
  「小事」(Appamattakaṃ)」,智髻比丘長老英譯為「僅瑣事」(a mere trifle)。菩提比丘長老說,些微偏離正確的措辭並不一定障礙含義的正確認識,但在AN.2.20中說,文字的錯誤表示與意思的錯誤解釋,是真實法失真與消失的兩個因素。
